We had paid for having a bathroom in our room, but didn´t end up getting it, so make sure you explicitly make sure you don´t get the same room we did (room 3). Riccardo was very welcoming and gave us a lot of recommendations food wise, which were all very good. It was fairly cheap and worth money and location wise. You end up getting breakfast in a bar on the same street, but don´t get scared off because breakfast is very good and quite big for the price you pay for the B&B!

We made a reservation through Expedia for this hotel on our lap top, while driving to Florence. This place was difficult to find but once we got to the building, the office is on the second floor, no one answered. We rang the buzzer and knocked for over a half hour but no one showed and we finally left and found another hotel. We called Expedia from a nearby hotel and after 43 minutes and a $42.50 phone bill, gave up in frustration. We ended up being charged for two nights at this hotel, although we stayed somewhere else and neither Expedia nor the owner of the hotel, Mr. Ricardo, will give us a refund.

What can a B&B owner do if a guest arrives 4 hours later than the maximum check-in time (7.00pm) and doesn't call him directly (our phone numbers are written on the bell and in the bell and in the web agency voucher) but contacts Expedia, asking for another accomodation?
Our check-in policies are clearly specified by the web agency and the guest has to respect the conditions:
"Guests planning to arrive after hours must contact the property at least 48 hours prior to arrival to receive late check-in instructions.
Guests can contact the office using the number on the reservation confirmation received after booking via this website."
I've nor been contacted by you prior to arrival, in order to advice me, neither at the arrival time.

Dear guest, I'm so sorry for you, but you had all the tools to avoid this kind of inconvenience.

If you say it is okay to be late don't get angry if we call at 7 exactly. I am familiar with Italian "work ethic." So when they say they go home at 7 they mean it. Except when they yell at you and happen to be at b and b still. And they come back later in the evening. I paid 130 or more for a private bathroom that was in the hallway. I have chronic urinary problems. So if I pay for a private bath I don't want to have to get dressed to walk out to use it. I lived in florence for 5 months. I like this hood. But for a first timer it just shows off the graffiti ridden city. Stay somewhere near river.

Nice rooms...feels like you are staying in a home. Because it is a bed and breakfast....MAKE SURE you get there by check in time or if not make sure you make arrangments ahead of time to pick up the key in a certain location. Near by are some great cafes where they serve great pizza and wine.

This B&B is located about a 10 minute walk east of the Duomo in a relatively quiet area. It is located on the second floor of a building shared with other tenants on the other upper floors. The manager is not on-site all of the time so you have to co-ordinate your arrival in advance; we did not do this so we had to wait by the locked street entrance until he arrived. Our room faced the street and on weekends it was a bit noisy but our experience was that Sunday through Thursday nights were very quiet and we could sleep with the window open. The room was clean and well-appointed, including a mini fridge. Our room had a private bath but not all rooms do. A supermarket is very close by as well as some very good and inexpensive restaurants. Breakfast is taken at a coffee bar just down the street and it offers a wide selection of pastries as well as good coffee. Staying here was a good experience.

We stayed in room 2 so were en suite. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. Riccardo (the owner?) was very helpful when he was there but, it was unpredictable when he would be around. We were provided with vouchers each day to use for breakfast at Plaz a nearby bar/cafe - if we were not around then Riccardo would leave the voucher under our door. The location was good and despite being at the front of the hotel, we found that the windows and shutters did a good job of keeping out the street noise. It is about a 10 min stroll to the Duomo area and 10euros taxi cost to the train/bus station.

It was our first trip to beautiful Firenze and we were recommended this B&B by a friend. The rooms are nice and a decent size with private bathroom and breakfast is provided for free at a nearby lively and tasty cafe! Our stay was made all the better by Riccardo (thanks!) who checked us in and took the time to give us restaurant tips and point out the must see spots in Florence. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a quality, reasonable priced b&b close to all the wonders that Firenze has to offer.
TIP - be aware that central florence is pedestrian only and the nearest pay garage (two streets away) will cost you approx 30 euro per night. Also if driving into the city be sure the garage or hotel registers your car with local police to avoid a fine!
