Me and my cousin have been backpacking across Europe the past few weeks and we were totally blown away by the genuine loveliness of the couple that owns this hotel! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were an all round delight, showing us all the best restaurants, where the best views were etc! We even came back one afternoon to a bottle of wine! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here if they don't mind a tad more modest settings, it is truly lovely to see a real part of Italy not just samey-samey hostels and hotel walls! We will definitely be staying here again if we're next in Florence and will be recommending to all our family & friends :)

Second hotel on our 14 day tour. Pros: Great location, close to train station. Pierro was an extremely pleasant host. Cons: Entrance from the street is a little eery - 3 sets of doors - felt like we were going into a cave and all the locks and bolts were a little daunting. We had Room #1 which is right off the "lobby" - was large enough but dark and the AC did not work that well. It was also quite noisy. Bathroom was pleasantly large with nice shower and lighting. Breakfast was an assortment of packaged goods which was what we expected. It was nice enough but way overpriced for what you get. Glad we only booked it for one night.

I give relais five stars based on what you pay here vs other places in Florence I've stayed. It is a good deal for a clean, friendly environment. Pierre was fabulous. As other reviewers have mentioned, he gave us lots of attention and helped us find some good spots for gelato and dinner. He watched our bags all day and had the AC cranking for us when we got back from a long day of exploring in the heat. He seemed genuinely happy to help us and to have us there. We loved the little tray of snacks they left out for us. And the location was perfect for coming/going in Florence.

Room Tip: Rooms 3 and 4 are at the back, where it was quiet. Room 1 might've been louder because it was r...

The couple who own this place, are amazing. SUPER friendly, will take the time to advise you, chat, Pierro told us the best restaurants, even the best place to find Gelatto (and both were totally on the money). His wife gave us great advice for day trips. They make you feel at ease. Rooms are large for Italy standards. Our room had high ceiling, microwave, little table. It was very charming and clean. Location is perfect.

The location of the Relais was fantastic- a few minutes walk from the station and a few minutes walk to the centre of the city.
We were allocated a room away from the hotel, an apartment a few streets away. I think this suited our needs better but it was a slightly unusual and unexpected step.
The room was an OK standard maintained by maids. Perhaps dated, perhaps dusty but definitely acceptable.
Value for money but I'm not sure I could recommend the room to those looking for a luxurious or romantic break in Florence.

We stayed here for one night in October. Piero and Marcela were really helpful and excellent hosts...nothing too much trouble. Marcela gave us a map and told us where to visit. We could leave our bags forthe whole day we checked out if we wanted to. Location is really good....close to the station and near the centre. Only criticism was the breakfast but we knew it was only packaged cake beforehand.

The owner is very nice and helpful and has great recommendations.
The location is not bad - 15 minutes walk from city center.
The rooms are clean and very big.
The breakfast is very basic and may not be enough, especially if you travel with kids (there is a supermarket nearby)
