The hotel is running by a lovely family. They are friendly & helpful. Room is big & clean. Yhe hotel is at 1sf floor, thus no need to bring our big & heavy lugguages to walk the stairs or take the little elevator. It only few minutes walk to SMN station and 10mins walk to the historical places. If you are the first visit to Florence, the owner is very kind to provide you a brief & tips of Florence about the good restaurants and places to good in the smart way. I definitely recommended this hotel to you.

I stayed in Relais Florence four nights. The room I stayed is in a dark filthy alley down the road. Location wise, the hotel is perfect. 5 min walk to train station and S. Maria Novella, also walking distance to Duomo and other attractions. But the flip side of good location is that there r some bars nearby, so it is really noisy, especially weekend. I couldnt really sleep well on Fri. night cuz the young people were shouting n talking loudly outside the hotel even till 3am. But it turned better during week days. Good thing about it is that the lady owner is extremely sweet and nice. She speaks good English and explained the map and everything in great details. She helped out a lot on planning our trip in Florence. All in all, I would say it's not really a bad experience. back-packers or ppl who travel under budget can give it a try. But if ppl who travel with family or newly-wed couples or light sleepers, u might find better choices.

I booked this room a month before my trip due to the good reviews, location and price. We turned up at about 3pm (well after check-in had started) to be greated by a young girl opening the door. She said her dad would be with us in 10 minutes, half an hour later he actually showed up. His wife had walked straight passes us during this time without even acknowledging our presence. When I asked why we had to wait half an hour to even check in, he said "so what?" And proceeded to tell us that if I had a problem with the "hotel", we had to leave. So we did. The only positive that came out of our experience with the Relais Florence was that we didn't get charged and managed to find a much nicer hotel down the street!

We stayed three nights at the Relais and really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is walking distance from the main train, bus station & most tourist attractions in Florence. The owner Pietro is a very nice guy, always ready to help (speaks good english as well). Also Pietro's help on planning your day, is probably far better than any tourist guide out there. Our room was nice n clean, our only complain is that the bathroom was a lil too small (if I have to be really picky)... there's also free Wi-fi in the lobby. Thank you Pietro for the wonderful hospitality n the lovely bottle of Chianti (it was really nice) .. We would definitely visit again !

It is very close to the station but yes it is a Guest House / BB and not a hotel or so. I think all the rooms are big and they have good room space. The height of the room is quite impressive :) . but has a sweet balcony door although not much of a balcony. But the owners are really helpful and very co-operative. I think they couldnt talk much in engish so need to be careful.
