If you read my bad review of the Persefone Palace this is the place we found around the corner. The owner put another bed in the room for us. The room was very clean and the bathroom excellent. Breakfast was on a tray in the room with a kettle and a filter water jug. The hotel staff were very friendly, giving us a map of Florence and marking the bus routes and main sites.
The owner asked to meet us on the second day to welcome us; he was a doctor of economics and charm itself. I can recommend this hotel to anyone.

First time in Europe and first time at a bed and breakfast. Its a cute place...you feel like you are staying at someones house. Paolo, the owner was SUPER nice and very helpful. We rented bikes for the day from the hotel and it was the best way to get around. You are kind of out of the "busy" area but close enough. Walking distance from the train station.

This bed & breakfast is cozy and homey. Everything is very clean, and the staff is very nice. Paolo, the owner, could not have been anymore helpful. He speaks great English and goes above and beyond for others. The location of the hotel is great; it's on a quiet street but also only a short walk to the Fortezza de Basso and other busy streets. The nightly rates are not expensive as well...great place to stay!

It's a B&B and some bedrooms are close to the rail line, which may be noisy. If you arrive between 12pm and 3pm, you may need to call to the host, so you'd better to try to notify in advance about your estimated arrival time...

The bedroom has a great size and is comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a quietest room, far to the rail line...

In general the hotel was good. I liked that the breakfast was served in the room and you can simply wake up and feel comfortable to eat in pajamas. If you arrive to Santa M.Novella station, it is not very short distant to walk (but we did and for me it wasn't very distant), maybe from station Riffredi is shorter but I cannot insist on it.

Stayed 2 nights in a single room complete with en suite shower/toilet.
Close to train line at rear but did not affect my sleep as the windows are double glazed and shuttered.
Location is only 20 mins max from the centre. Either walk or hop on a bus. The bus route is 5 mins away and there are frequent buses to the train/bus station where you can connect to other areas of the town or region.
Small in room breakfast snack/drinks provided in room.
PC also available but let reception know if you wish to use.
Building is clean and uniquely decorated inside. The wall maps are impressive and differant.
Bicycles are available for hire.
Paolo speaks good English and will assist with any directions or tourist advice.
I'm grateful to him for reserving my tickets for the Uffizi gallery and Academia. Well worth the visits.
