I stayed at this hotel for five nights in July with my three children (ages 11-18). All sights of Florence are within a 15 minute walk including the train station. Our host had a great personality. He gave us a map and marked routes to some sights. He spoke several languages so communication was easy. This hotel is near the leather market and Mercato Centrale. There is some noise in the morning as the vendors set up but nothing excessive. You are in the heart of a major city. Breakfast includes hot beverages, juice, yogurt, cereal, fresh brioches and rolls. Very typical for Italy. Yes, the hotel is on the third floor and there is no lift. Once again this is Italy and not a new building. Room 2 comfortably accommodated 4 people and had a private bath with shower. There is so much to do in Florence, you don't end up spending much time at the hotel. I recommend this hotel and would stay again.

There's four flights of stairs and no elevator to get to the reception desk which was ok once we got to the top.
We ended up with a share bathroom which we had not expected, and this bathroom was small and 'old'.
The room we received was on the top floor, however in the attic with a slanted ceiling causing difficulty to stand up straight in half of the room. A/C was provided but poor fan strength.
Good location for the central market and the main train station.

We paid for superior room ... Was given a shoe box with a bed that had insects all over it ... When we questioned the room they said this is all they had left even though we had paid for a superior room .... Check out photo we took of the room we were give. verse the photos they have put up on the website ... There is a clear difference!!! We asked for a refund but they refused!! Poor service as they didn't even care!!

Mixed reviews for this hotel, Perfect location :-) , Poor Breakfast, No elevator (but no problem for us) good hospitality. Beds really comfortable. Personally i would stay here again if it were only a few days to revisit the sites but would consider staying elsewhere if going for longer for comfortability factor

firstly our room is clearly meant to be a room for 2, however there are 5 of us so they've squeezed extra beds in so there is no room and I am sleeping on a couch!
secondly the hot water in the shower only lasts about 2 minutes until going cold.
and thirdly, with our booking, we got free bike rentals. they gave us two faulty bikes which broke themselves, one breaking just outside the hotel!! they charged us €100 for both bikes even though it was not our fault!! he claimed they were new and they clearly weren't as my bike was wrapped in tape! he was extremely rude about it too!

The maid service is terrible. We stayed here for 4 nights and our sheets were not changed once! The floor in the bathroom was never cleaned and there is no shower curtain. You have to climb several flights of stairs to get to your room so if you aren't able to haul your luggage forget this place. Came back to our room after a long day and couldn't get in as they were painting it!!!! The breakfast is mediocre at best. Staff is friendly but in the long haul it's just not enough to recommend this place to anyone.

You enter from the street to a stone stairway of 45 stairs! Once you have reached the top, dragging your luggage, and catching your breath--you enter to a very, very small reception area. Lorenzo was quite friendly, he greeted us, gave us map of sites to see and escorted us to our room. The room (#9) was very small--and poorly furnished--no side table or place to put your luggage. We had to squat on the floor to access our luggage, which you couldn't open all the way, because the room was so small. There was no bureau to put your clothes in. The bathroom was clean, but the shower was so small that you couldn't barely wash yourself without bumping into the side walls! The bathroom did not have any place to put toiletries--such as makeup, hairdryer, etc. the framing on the bathroom window was dirty and had black mold on it. We originally had 4 nights, but checked out after one. The lighting was poor as well. It wasn't what we thought we were getting. Our travel agent booked this for us. This hotel, however is fine for backpackers, or the young who want the bare minimum. But--not for us...
