This hotel was very handy. It was so close to the train station, which has excellent links to Europe.

We arrived and the staff did not seem to be all there, we were given our room which, although it looked nice, smelt of mildew.

This would possibly be because of the shower in the room. The shower curtain looked like it had not been washed since the day that it had been put up and the towels just did not feel clean.

The toilet was shared with another room. This was no problem and it was kept relatively clean but it was only cleaned by the cleaner once a day.

The hair dryer in the room was broken. I asked for one from the staff, I also asked for an iron. They had neither and also had no adaptors that worked. This is not really the show of a good hotel.

The breakfast was rubbish. We didn't even bother going to it the second morning.

Our family of 4 stayed at this hotel in the month of May. The hotel is very close to the main train station. It is situated on a quiet street. Our room was very clean, spacious, air-conditioned and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is ideal for tourists. Very close to the station and walking distance from all the tourist spots.

The location of the hotel was great. Very close to the Florence SMN station, and also a quick walk to the city and all its main attractions. The staff is friendly and helpful.
But our room was adjacent to the hotel’s guest toilet. The constant flushing and the buses going past outside made the room very noisy.
The double bed was in fact two single beds pushed together which was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The bathroom was dirty, and had mould on just about every corner. They charge €2 for a towel, which was the first time I’ve ever seen that! Internet is €5 for an hour.
It is a cheap hotel, and the only positive is that it is easy to get around Florence from this hotel, but the noise and the uncomfortable bed was not worth it.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel at the end of September 2010.
Although we are unpretentious travelers this hotel was worth than we had expected.
The building itself was old (not ancient but old – it’s really different) and had a respective unpleasant smell. The same about the hotel itself and the room which were very uncomfortable. The blanket was not clean but the bedclothes were fine. We were lucky to stay there for two nights only.
The room had a sink and a shower separated from rest of the room with a curtain. The toiled was shared with two or three other rooms but nevertheless always vacant and clean. One could her even the quietest sound so you’d better use earplugs unless you are a sound sleeper.
The location was not bad – three minutes walk from S.M.Novela Railway Station, five minutes to Duomo. There was a supermarket around the corner and lots of cafes open almost any time. So you’ll never die of hunger. San Lorenzo market is also near.
The breakfast was surprisingly good. It was a buffet offering toasts, tasty croissants, cheese and sliced ham, butter and jam/nutella, fruit (grapes, pears and apples), cornflakes and milk, boiled eggs, biscuits, tea and coffee from a coffee machine.
Nevertheless I would not recommend this hotel to anyone but for those who are on a tight budget (the price was 55 Euros per night) and are not intending to spend much time in the room.
