The exhibition is arranged very well, works by Rafael are not the only one that has to be seen there. The interior of the entire palace helps to imagine times of the past. The only disadvantage is a poor lighting and small letters on the explanation tags

It is odd that such a large residence is called the "little palace." Is there a bigger one elsewhere? Once home to the all-powerful Medicis, it's a McMansion built to impress. Lovely gardens!

Although the art is fabulous, we actually enjoyed the Bobolink gardens behind Pitti. Be sure and go to Bardini Gardens which are behind the Boboli. Unbelievable Would go back again. There is a fort back there also which we did not have time to visit.

Once the palace of the powerful Medici family, the Palazzo Pitti has since been transformed into a beautiful art collection. You can buy tickets that include a few of the different galleries, so be careful which tickets you are buying when going to the ticket office. The art collection in the Galleria Palatina is gorgeous, and the tour takes you through the governmental, living, and receiving rooms of the Medici family, including a really neat history infused into the tour. If you are a history buff, an art buff, or just someone looking to get away from the main crowds, this Palazzo is a must see!

This palace was built by the Pitti family in the 15th century. The Medici made it their main Florentine residence in the mid 16th century. It contains much of the Medici collection including works by Titian, Raphael and Andrea del Sarto.
