“not to be missed”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

Get there early!! The climb is not bad as there are breaks between levels. It is narrow and often you must make room for others who are coming down - not what I would want later in the day. The view is spectacular! This unbelievable architecture can be even better appreciated by viewing a NOVA special: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/ancient/great-cathedral-mystery.html#

“Well worth the climb.”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

This is not just a climb for a view, but a climb through history. There are some spectacular views and once you go through the turnstile you can climb fast or slowly, and there are places to let others go past. The view from the top is striking.

Hint: Buy your ticket the afternoon before and be in line by 0830 when the doors open. The guards let only a few dozen people in every 20 mins or so, so if you queue up later, be ready for a long wait.

“Magnificent Architecture”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

You will not go to Florence and not see this beautiful magnificent building, beautiful people and street, do be aware of street vendors. But don’t let them spoil your visit to this beautiful city.

“Great visit to the top of the tower”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

This was well worth the walk up the 460+ steps. Great views of Florence and the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Also the viewing platform of the Vasari painting on the interior of the Dome was very interesting, The tickets at 10 euro also do the duomo (quite austere in the inside ) and the baptistry ( very worhwhile visiting), the tickets last 24 hours so we did the campanile (bell tower 400+ steps ) the next day.
