We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with our 2 young daughters. The location was wonderful for walking anywhere and there were great restaurants and cafes nearby. The owners and staff were wonderful and you could tell they wanted your stay to be perfect. The decor was beautiful, including 14th century original frescoes on the ceilings. Great value too!

This is a great hotel and a fantastic value! Mario made our stay memorable and his son Niccolo and co-owner Rela always had a welcoming smile and attitude that made us feel at home. Most (but not all) of the rooms have original 16th century frescoes on the ceilings and large, spacious surroundings. Everything was spotless and in great working order. The included breakfasts were ample and varied. Any request, e.g., for ice or coffee or for advice on things to do and see, was fulfilled with pleasure and accuracy. I even spent two hours conversing with Mario about the history of Florence and the current state of world affairs. He is truly a great ambassador for his city and for Italy.

My wife and I traveled with our 18 year old granddaughter and we all felt the Burchianti truly qualifies as a home away from home. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. If one stays elsewhere they are missing a great opportunity to experience Florence and its history. (Besides, the location is great. Near the train station and within walking distance of all the meaningful activities of the city.)

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for one of the rooms with frescoes. Most (all?) of the rooms are all off the street an...

We stayed for 3 nights in June and loved it. It's a bit surreal as it feels like the reception and breakfast area is in someone's front room but this just adds to the charm. Our room was lovely with high ceilings and frescos (which were quite funny when you study them), four poster bed, air conditioning and free WiFi. My only negative comment would be that it was a bit dark in the room as it seemed a bit of an effort to open the shutters but it didn't really bother me! The breakfast was ok, standard for italy, and the owners/staff were very friendly. The location was also great, 5 mins walk to the train station and just round the corner from the Duomo. Would definitely stay here again!
Also across the road there is a restaurant with a rooftop bar, we didn't manage to get in as it was fully booked but looks like it would be worth a try!

By far the best place we stayed on our 10 day trip to Italy. Our room was large, with the amazing cathedral ceilings. It's a very charming and cozy place to stay.
The location is ideal, close to the train, central market and all major sites.
