My family and I stayed in Variopinto apartment in Florence recently and were happy with our stay. Sarah and Arthur were great to deal with. The apartment was close to all of the Florence attractions but still out of the crowded section of town. We were within walking distance to almost everything. The only negatives would be the small bathrooms (common for Italy) and I felt the bathrooms could have been a little cleaner (dirty floor boards and shower floor). Other than that everything was great and the apartment was nicely equipped.

Apartment was more than I expected. Very roomy. Every thing we needed was provided in the apartment including laundry soap, dish soap, condiments, bath soaps. We didn't use the kitchen but it was perfect. Would recommend this to anyone.

While the apartment was adequate, I felt like I was living in a college dorm again. It does have all that one needs (2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining area), however, it is very plain and decorated in Ikea furniture.
On the day we arrived, there was no hot water coming out of the faucet at all. We got in touch with our contact to let them know. They said they wouldn't be able to get a plumber to look at it, as it was a Saturday. With that being said, we worried that one wouldn't show up on Sunday either. Our contact was able to contact a plumber on Sunday afternoon, however, that meant we needed to go back to the apartment to let them in, which meant we had to leave our site seeing in Florence to go back. Our contact was nice enough to refund us one nights accommodation (of our 2 nights we had booked) and we appreciated this because of the inconvenience.
Fabulous appartment . Very clean , bright and modern.
Fully equipped kitchen . Comfortable beds . Large sitting room.
We were met by Sarah who answered our questions about nearest supermarket etc.
The appartment is about a ten minute walk from the station, then another five minutes to the Duomo.
This was my fifth trip to Florence , the first time in a flat rather than Hotel.
The flat was about the same walk to the tourist sights as the Hotels , but far nicer as it was so light and airy in comparison to a Hotel room.
I thoroughly recommend this appartment .
The owner's daughter and her cousins were highly helpful - they were very patient and instantly responsive to our queries and maintenance requests. The apartment located on the 3rd floor is serviced by an elevator which seems to be a rarity in similar apartments in Italy.
The lovely apartment has a superb location close to the train station, restaurants, supermarkets and the Domo and its nearby street market. My wife and I and 2 teenage grandkids stayed there in mid Jan for 2 nights and used it as a base for a day trip to Pisa. We are so thankful we booked this apartment.
