“Mah”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

It wasn't good as the price was. The waitress seemed to be pissed whenever she had to serve and definitely too slow. Let's not talk about the sauces made at 70% by water. Too bad the owner wasn't there because he can make the atmosphere nicer with his charisma.

“Chinese in Italy? Yes, and it's exquisite!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

When you are in Italy and craving Chinese you would think your options are quite slim; however, in the last few years it seems rosticerrie cinese are everywhere.

Dinastia Tang is right off of Via Nazionale and very near San Lorenzo Market. The restaurant itself is rather small. I don't believe they can seat more than fifteen people. Coming here I have always noticed the place is packed with Chinese people. To me, that's a good sign. In addition there are always people stopping in for takeout and their delivery boy is always grabbing orders to deliver. I myself have experienced dining in as well as take out service here. If you choose to dine in expect counter style seating as opposed to private tables for you and your dining partners. Also, all dishes on the Italian/English menu are served on plastic dishware with plastic utensils and plastic cups are used for beverages.

The menu here is in Chinese on one side and the other side is in Italian with English translations and pictures. You place your order at the register but you don't pay until you are ready to leave if you are dining in otherwise you are expected to pay right after ordering. They have specials offering a rice or lo mein, a meat item, and a drink for less than 6 euro as well as one offering the above mentioned and an appetizer of choice for just 8 euro. Otherwise their menu has a full selection of diverse rice dishes, lo mein dishes, appetizers, chicken, duck, tripe, beef, pork, and all other typical Chinese deliciousness.

I always noticed Chinese people ordering what appeared and smelled delicious. Mostly soup dishes with noodles. I wish I knew what they were but on the menu I never saw such things. Perhaps the Chinese menu is different than the Italian/English version? I assumed they cook to please the Italian palate. Evidence of this can be seen in calling their lo mein dishes spaghetti and their dumplings ravioli. Oh, and the Chinese soups I mention come served in ceramic dishware.

I have tried their roasted duck which is squisito! Their cantonese rice has hot dogs in it, which to someone who hates hot dogs (me) I didn't care for this rice dish. Others I dined with loved it. Their steamed dumplings both with meat filling or vegetable fillings are delicious and come served in a bamboo basket on top of steamed cabbage leaves. I've tried three of their chinese dishes- chinese with mushrooms and bamboo, chicken with mixed vegetables, and chicken with mixed peppers. All three were delicious but the chicken with mixed vegetables was extremely salty the last three times I tried it.

My absolute favorite meal here:
white rice, mixed sauteed vegetables, roasted duck and a cold TsingTao beer.

They have a large wall full of liquors, wines as well as a cooler with sweet beverages and an ample selection of cold beers.

“Nice and authentic Chinese food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

Firstly, you need to note that there are 2 different menus, english and chinese version, offering different items. The english menu is more Italian with its selection of pastas dishes. The Chinese menu on the other hand offers the authentic chinese dishes from chow mein (fried noodles), to dan dan mian (spicy handmade noodles), from stir fry vegetables to the whole host of fish and meats.

We tried the Sichuan dan dan mian and its a big thumbs up for chilli/spice lovers. The claypot beef stew is another wellcooked dish with tender beef slices and flavorful soup.

Price wise...very affordable with each dish averaging between euro4 to euro8 (for the chinese menu).
