Once we read the reviews, we had to try this place and lucky for us it was just around the corner from our hotel. We were not disappointed. This was some of the best food we've had on this trip (and we've, uh, had a LOT of food, to put it mildly). The couple that runs this tiny place are clearly passionate about the food and it shows. You walk in, the wife lets you know what she has that day, she recommends wines, and you go for it. Gnocchi a la romana, pasta with salmon, amazing meats and cheeses, and we topped it off with these chocolates ranging from milk, to white to dark and a chocolate and pear cake (oh.my.god.) washed down with Cuban rum. One the one hand, I didn't want to tell you about this place. On the other, these people deserve all the business they can get and more, and God, I hope they're still there next time I'm in Florence. If you're serious about your food, and not just any old thing will do, you need to come here.

Specialises in Tuscan food.

The space is a very, very small, with barely room to get by. There are three-and-half tables, the three at the back are tightly packed and suitable for 2 people, the 'half' table at the front being suitable for a single person. When we were there, the only Italians were a couple who'd popped in, late in the evening, for a coffee.

The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team, the husband preparing the boards of cold food (eg. a cheese selection, types of different pork and salamis, a tasting plate of chocolate), the wife is front-of-house. Both are very friendly and trilingual. There is some hot food, the majority is cold though (eg. cheese/meat/chocolate plates). What we ate was good. The prices are relatively reasonable: for instance, our meal for two of cost about EU60, the meal consisting of 2 generous-sized glasses of delicious wine, lasagne & ribolitto, a small pecorino tasting plate and one including different cold meats, two deserts & coffees.

It was an interesting experience and we certainly don't regret going. Would we go back? Very unlikely.

The restaurant is located at a cute side street in Florence. The owners were so welcoming and lovely. Thanks you for an amazing evening!

The restaurant is very small and it only has 3 tables and a few seats at the bar, but the atmosphere is relaxed so you never feel like somebody is listening in your conversation. The candle lights and music made it very romantic. Make sure that you make reservations as the restaurant is almost always full.

The food was delicious. We started with the bruschetta starter. The one with the truffle oil pork was especially tasty. My husband has the lasagne and it was moist and authentic. I had the tortellini with ragu that could have used a bit more sauce but still was very delightful. We finished with the chocolate and pear tart and the cheesecake and they were both delicious and clearly homemade. The food was reasonably priced, definitely cheaper than other restaurants in Florence.

If you wish to have an authentic dinner made in a true Tuscan kitchen this is the place to go!

This restaurant is the superstar of the region. Unbelievable taste, very good price, excellent service. Small and very cozy place. Wide range of wine, best ingredient with anything you eat. This place is a must go! Don't miss it !

We have just returned from this small but perfectly formed restaurant this evening. It's run by a lovely couple who are very welcoming. My nephew Jamie who is aged 11 is very difficult to please but he really enjoyed his meal, which was a delicious lasagne. My sister and I would recommend the bruschetta starter, the lasagne and the blueberry cheesecake which is lovely and light. It was was very enjoyable evening, made even more so by very gracious and friendly hosts.
