“Best Sandwiches You'll Get In Florence (Maybe the world)”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

The only reason anyone would give this place a bad review is if they hate fresh delicious ingredients and extremely reasonable prices, and generally have a heart of stone. We got there and it was small enough, a deli counter with a couple of small stools at a small table. The staff were helpful and spoke english as we tried to decide on what to get. The counter is stacked with fresh cheeses / meats / and veg. The sandwiches were huge and unbelievable, as a vegetarian I had several to choose from not just the usual Tomato, Mozzarella, and Pesto. I got a Brie, Truffle Oil and toasted pine nut sandwich, and my girlfriend got the smoked tuna with spinach, they were cheaper than any other sandwiches we saw in Florence the whole time we were there given they were about three times the size of the average panini. They were both fantastic. We casually ate them at a small table in the very relaxed little deli and went on our way. Go here for sure, don't bother wasting your money on anywhere else for a quick lunch!

“Very disappointed”
Reviewed July 6, 2014 via mobile

We tried this place because of the good reviews here. We were so disappointed. We could not finish our sandwiches because they were so disgusting. It tasted like a bunch of goop was slathered on stale bread. No fresh cheese or vegetables in sight.

“Great option between the Duomo and Uffizi”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

We had lunch at this great sandwich place two days in a row. It's conveniently located between the Duomo and the Uffizi gallery so it's perfect for a lunch stop between the two. On both occasions, I had the Kebab Chianti (if memory serves me right), containing cuts of pork, a particular type of local cheese, rocket and a beautiful spicy sauce that elevated this from a good sandwich to a great sandwich! We noticed the owner removing his glove when handling money which suggests he is hygiene conscious. That would inspire further confidence in the standard of this place which is well worth a visit for a high quality sandwich at a very good price.

“Best lunch in Florence”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

I lived in Florence for a year, and by the time I had left Pane e Toscana was my favorite paninoteca. Their schiacciata is delicious- the owner is super friendly and clearly loves what he does. The Pisano is my favorite panino in Italy!
