This place is wonderful. Attentive, knowledgable and friendly staff. Superb food and great atmosphere. Wondeful Florentine beef stew cooked slowly for five hours, a delicious caprese to start and one of the best panna cotta deserts I have ever had.

When you read good reviews, it stimulates you to try the restaurant. Sometimes you disagree with the previous reviewers but usually they are 100% accurate. They are here. Great restaurant. Simple food and wine presented with panache. Everything in Italian and the service is attentive. Very pleasant evening.

We stumbled into Il Gusto di Acasamia at around 5:30 on a hot July afternoon to see if we could get a dinner reservation. We were hungry but oubted that it would open before 8:00. We learned that we could make a reservation, and we could also be served then, if we chose. Thankful to be out off the hot street, we went inside. What a wonderful place! We had a great dinner, including the complimentary prosecco and appetizer described by others, and attentive but not intrusive service. We liked it so much we tried to make reservations for the next night, a Sunday. Unfortunately it's closed on Sundays and we left on Monday. Our return visit will have to wait.

Welcomed with a complimentary glass of Proseco, we arrived without reservation, just as the restaurant opened for business at 7:30. As advertised the menu was in Italian, which was quickly translated for us, by the lovely Christina who could not have been more helpful or charming.
The food was delicious and the suggested 12 Euro bottle of Chianti, was very good as well.
All in, an excellent little restaurant, with great food, service and staff. A fantastic find in any city, never mind one as touristy as Florence.

We picked this restaurant because of the reviews we read on TripAdvisor and the fact that is was within walking distance from our apartment. Everything from the prosecco, bruschetta, steak, ravioli, wine and limoncello, was perfect! Our waitress, Christina, was extremely helpful and patient in translating to English. She explained everything in great detail and we weren't disappointed. We enjoyed everything about our experience so much, that we came back within the week! We were equally satisfied the second time, as well. If we ever get the chance to visit Florence again, this will be our first stop!
