Chose La Prosciutteria for lunch due to its incredible reviews and also super close proximity to the Uffuzi museum exit. Highly recommend hitting up the Uffuzi first and then enjoying a leisurely and inspired lunch at La Prosciutteria. We were fortunately the very first patrons of the day and had our pick of the tables. The space is very small and filled up quickly. Since they do not have a restaurant license, you order everything at the counter, serve yourself water, and set your own table ;). We picked "the Mario" platter and "the Heidi" panini to share and two glasses of the house wine (delicious chianti). Wow, just wow, wow! When the platter was ready, it was just a feast for the senses. The preparer was able to make it for two people for just an extra 1.5€. There was prosciutto, salami, pears with honey and nuts, hard cheeses, crostini with soft cheese/mushrooms, crostini with spicy tomato pesto, grilled veggies, not to mention a beautiful presentation of accent olives, pickled onions, cantaloupe, oranges and dates. Seriously, check out my picture. It was all soooooo good! We sat there for almost two hours eating every last bite and also loving the Heidi panini - which was amazing soft goat cheese drizzled with honey (divine!). The wine paired so well with everything that we had to get a second glass. Seriously the best lunch we have had in Italy yet. So simple, so good and all for 24€. Loved to the completely funky vibe of the place and the staff was so welcoming and helpful too!
