This was one of the best places I've been in Florence, probably even in Italy! La Prosciutteria is a lovely vintage tuscan place where you can really enjoy! I advise you to come around 5 p.m. when there's not so many people (or maybe we had luck), order some special plates with different proscuitto, ham, bressaiola and cheeses and of course some vine. Chianti or Brunello is perfect! The best way to enjoy is that you leave yourself to them and they will give you the best! Don not just take the food "to go", but sit at the table and enjoy!

I went here after reading all the reviews and can agree with the majority, I had a really good sandwich, the Gorgonzola and truffle sauce was particularly good.

Very deserving of its high ranking on TA. Theyre menu truthfully states that "if you want a tourist trap, go somewhere else." Very cool atmosphere playing contemporary Italian music. Theyre not a restaurant, so you order at the counter. I cant be sure, but it seemed as though the place filled up with locals. It was also a nice break from the heavy and lengthy sitdown meals we were having.

After a day traipsing round Florence we decided to pop in for a bite. Unsure of what to choose from the menu, we trusted the waitress, who promptly prepared a mixed board of meats/bread/cheese and assorted treats, all of which were top notch. We chose some local white wine from the menu which was very moreish. All in all the food for 2 plus 4 glasses of wine came in at a shade under €45.

We had an early evening snack here - cheeses, hams and salads. Very authentic local type of bar despite being in central Florence. Many locals seemed to drop in for one drink and a snack. Its a small place so get packed very quickly, and it is not a restaurant so does not have a menu.
