Passed through Florence quickly to pick up a rental car. We had lunch at La Proscuitteria and it was delicious. There are two options for meat/cheese boards, 5 euro (pp) or 10 euro (pp). The 10 euro board was excellent and a great selection. We let them select the meats and cheeses for us. Standouts were the ricotta and gorgonzola spreads.

We stumbled on to La Prosciutteria while walking in Florence. It was so good, we went back two other times. Their antipasto boards are absolutely wonderful and their house red wine for three euro was excellent. No waiters and tables are very small and hard to find, but the atmosphere is electric and the staff-preparers behind the counters were friendly and very helpful with selections. Also try the various biscotti, they all are wonderful.

We went here twice in 2 days and we loved it!!!- Firstly for some vino and an antipasti platter late one evening (it was still packed) but the people are so patient and accommodating, it's hard to know what you want as it's a little crazy in there most of the time so you can't see the menu boards or even inside the counter but we just told the guy what we felt like and he whipped it up! We had the house wine too and it was delish!!!
The next day we went in for some of the tastiest panini's for lunch. They were so simple yet so packed full of flavour! I had just lettuce, mozzarella and prosciutto and my husband had roast beef, lettuce, tomato and balsamic. YUMMO- we will be craving those sandwiches until we return!
