Loved this charming spot. We went twice and tried 2 different servings. We loved it all. Excellent selections of Italian deli meats, homemade spreads, cheeses and wines served on a olive board. It is somewhat self serve...get your own plastic dish, water and napkins...but don't let that stop you, it is worth it! We spent 15 euros for wine and a tray that was filling and so delicious for the 2 of us!

I have been so looking forward to place that had charm and was not touristy like 99% of Florence city centre. La Prosciutteria was a nice respit from all these other places. I walked in and asked for a misto of meats and cheeses.. He gave me a random selection of hams, cheeses, salami,etc..very good along with a delicious wine selection to go with it. I was stuffed and it only cost 10'euro.

Came in here because the queue was out the door so I figured it must be good. We ordered one of the tasting menus and the panini. Both were delicious. Ate the finest cheses and hams while drinking a nice glass of wine - could not be better. Yes - the service is slow but worth the wait. Go to this restaurant its worth the wait.

I have just celebrated my 61st year on this planet with a meal here. It's another great rustic style eating place that appear to be popular in Florence with fine meats and cheeses cut in front of you and served on a board with bread and salad. All washed down with a glass of the local wine for a very good price. Even the piped 1970's music sounded good in this environment (Boney M anybody ?).

Great service, very different, very Italian and very good.

In the hustle and bustle of Florence it seems quite difficult to find somewhere reasonable and decent to eat. La Prosciutteria is about 100 yards away from a series of cafes who sell glasses of diet coke for €7 a pop. It is also well air conditioned which is a lovely chance to recover from the Florentine heat.

La Prosciutteria is essentially a deli counter with some chairs and tables so you can eat the food you buy there and then. They serve small tasting plates where for around €5-€10 per head you can eat from around 8 to 15 delicacies respectively. All are delicious and fresh with a daily change to the products they have. From the varied cuts of meat to the delectable truffled gorgonzola we ate here twice!

They have a house wine as well as a more up-market wine list - but to be honest the standard plonk accompanies the food wonderfully and at €3 or so a glass is another breath of fresh-air to the quite machiavellian pricing of other establishments.

To be recommended and enjoyed.
