I'm actually sitting in the restaurant right now! Wow! Wow! Wow! My boyfriemd and I are so pleased with our lunch I had to write a review on the spot!

The staff is super friendly and helpful, it's self serve because technically they are not a restaurant, as they have no license. However once you have ordered at the counter they will quickly slice your meats and cheeses and rush it to your table with a smile and and explanation of everything on your cutting board. All the waiters clearly know their stuff and enjoy sharing with the locals and tourists a like! The owner was cheerful and running back and forth handing out samples with a big grin. Again he clearly knows his stuff and loves sharing his passion!

It was a little hectic at first, and I began to get a little flustered as I had no idea what was on the menu or what to get, but once we got to the front to order all we had to say was we want meats and cheeses, and the waitress smiled and said "No problem, sit down I will set you up nice!" With that we sat a very rustic table with locals and tourists around us and in less then 5 min she brought us a huge cutting board with 5 kinds of meats (pork, turkey, etc.) several cheeses, olives, artichoke hearts, and our 2 glasses of wonderful white wine (only €2.50 a glass!). She then explained the whole board to us and added all bread was free, all water was free (a rarity in Europe) and that there was no cover to sit. With that she said anything else we would like come up front and she'd see right too us. Made us feel important and like a local friend!

The food is divine! All the meats are amazing. The chesses tasty and the bread clearly fresh and made nearby if not within the shop. We are still munching and are so happy!!! All together with the huge tasting board and 2 glasses of wine the meal is only €20. We also have free water, bread and wifi. What a great find! We were going to the amazing sandwich place right across the street, which is #1 on TravelAdvisor, but as the line was HUGE and we'd already eatten there we are so glad we decided to wander a little down the street to this place. There is something for everyone here. GO HERE IT IS WORTH THE VISIT!!!!!!! :)

Dear beautiful Kelly,
we are so glad you enjoyed your meal and our humble wanna-be restaurant! All our products are from the green hills around florence (except for the wine which is from all italy along). And of course the waiter was well-informed about the food: we test them hardly every week about new and old products and if they don't succeed we make them starve for one week! JUST KIDDING!!!!!! The main reason of the waiters knowledge is their direct and personal friendship with manufacturers themselves: US! Indeed we produce everything you can eat in our "restaurant".
And our single goal is to make our costumers happy (and maybe drink some good wine in the meantime)!!!

I hope to see you and your boyfriend again soon!
Thank you for the marvellous and luxorious review!

The salami platter was incredible. She custom tailored our selection to our taste. Many wines by the glass to choose from - all $3. We met several groups of people and had a great time. This is a must-visit.

No frills, just good food. This is a cool place to enjoy Parma ham and cheese which is served on a wooden board. Water comes free of charge from a tap. Loved it.

Lisa, oh Lisa!
Lisa from UK so happy you liked our humble food! We created a simple place where our customers can focus on tasting our genuine and typical tuscan products. Do you know that we are also the manufacturers of everything you eat in La Prosciutteria?
Thanks for your review,

Hope to see you again soon!

I can only say that I loved this modest and wonderful place. In total we've visited 5 cafes-restaurants for 1.5 days in Florence, but I still remember the atmosphere of this one. The food was very good and fresh, the service - excellent! Next time I'm there I'll definitely go again. Forgot to mention that the prices are fair. Sorry if I wasn't helpful with a practical info. :)

Had the porchetta sandwiches after a morning at the Uffizi - very salty but overall did not disappoint. Sandwiches prepared fresh, you get your choice of bread and can add toppings/spreads if you want but totally unnecessary given how flavorful the meat was. Grab LOTS of napkins, our hands were covered with grease by the time we'd finished. Much less crowded than sandwich shop up the street as well - good for afternoon break of wine & cheese/meat plate.
