Certificate of Excellence

Firenze Number Nine exceeded our expectations at every level. The service, the room, the decor, the location, the food... everything was exceptional. We regretted only staying one night, and we wished we had booked for several nights. It was the best hotel we stayed at during our 2 weeks in Italy. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

Room Tip: Request a superior/deluxe room if possible.

As our stay in firenze draws to a close, I felt the need to express my gratitude to the whole staff who's made this an unique experience. As a first time in Italy, it was first pleasing to be in the very heart of firenze where every major cultural landmark is really near. The hotel was really calm (as it's located on a small street where cars are scarce) and the rooms were pretty good with all the amenities you'd wish for. But one cannot talk about Number Nine without referring to its absolutely amazing staff whose devotion has no limits : this goes from the friendly breakfast waitresses to the excellent receptionists who booked for us two restaurants which were just the most fabulous experiences as far as food was concerned (quite probably the best in my life).
Simply put, it was amazing, amazing and amazing again!

The service from the staff was brilliant. The concierge/reception helped me plan my whole trip and even sorted it out when I'd double booked something. I had a massage in the spa and it was really good.

Only negatives were the breakfast was a little underwhelming and the room was a bit small / sparse but I had a good stay.

This is a beautiful hotel and one that is even better than the pictures depict. Clean and comfortable, with excellent staff.

The property is in a fantastic location - you see the best of Florence at your doorstep. The staff (Alessandro) was great with suggestions for sightseeing and organized a wonderful road trip for us to see the Tuscan towns and countryside. All the staff at reception were in fact, friendly and courteous.

On the flip side, I'm not sure if this is expected in European hotels but guests were charged separately for eggs ordered at breakfast. Two omelets and a sunny side up was 16 euros.

We cannot comment on the spa (we weren't planning to use it anyway) as it was closed for renovation during the time we were there, however that shouldn't take away from the fact that this is a great choice for anybody wishing to explore the city on foot and enjoy the charm of this incredible destination.

This has got to be the most romantic place on earth. I loved the scenery in daylight and at night. The people were friendly and charming. We were there for two nights and I could have stayed forever. I recommend this destination highly and I plan on going back some day.

Very close to the duomo and all important attractions. Clean, beautiful, spacious rooms - modern with many interesting art sculptures and pictures. W-LAN for free, full minibar, etc. Friendly and obliging staff. Delicious breakfast with fresh fruits, drinks, food etc. (in Italy!).

When we first arrived we didn't really gel with the hotel but after 3 nights and 4 days in Florence we eventually bonded.

The hotel is very modern, and all the staff think they are a bit cool. However they do warm up and become very friendly.

Room
The Room was very spacious, a MASSIVE extremely comfortable bed. Space for clothing. Lovely spacious bathroom. One negative was we had no shower head holder. It was a bit odd as there was plenty of space for it...however gave us the excuse to use the jacuzzi bath.

Breakfast
Very wide choice of breakfast things. Cold, hot, sweet, savoury, alcoholic..whatever you fancied you would be sure enough to find it. Coffee was excellent and the staff very on it.

Location
Central, walking distance to the major sites. Couldn't really get anywhere better.

All in all we had a great time here, the only reason for the 4 star is the lack of friendliness on our arrival.
