B&B Florence Dream Domus
Ranked #311 of 661 Florence B&B and Inns
Reviewed November 14, 2006

Stayed at the Dream Domus 3 nights in October 2006, and we were very happy with it. Great location, beautiful rooms. Breakfast was very good. Computer with internet access available for guests at no cost in lobby. Staff was very helpful with directions or reservations; they reserved two museums for us. Quiet location close to everything and Florence is very walkable. Third floor of private building.

The location of Florence Dream Domus is excellent except not the easiest to find while driving. Rooms were lovely and breakfasts were good. Front Desk was very helpful in obtaining museum reservations. We were unknowingly upgraded which was a surprise and cost us more.

We stayed in Florence Dreams two nights. The room ( the Lucretia) was lovely..very large...fine linens, Tiepolo on the walls...
fine furniture...all mentioned before on reviews.(Yes, there is an annoying step in the bathroom, just to make it not perfect.)
We are seniors,, and there are two flights of stairs, but we were met and our luggage taken up when we arrived, and Perla herself carried bags down when we left. The only caution I would suggest, is have your cellphone working to call if you arrive after hours as there is no one at the desk at night. They give you the keys and you are on your own. We were a little surprised...we thought we were the only guests as it was so quiet at night....big surprise when 6 others turned up for breakfast.
There is no "lounge" as such, but the large room that serves breakfast has two sofas, the computer desk, and a wealth of reading material..no need to stay in your room
You cannot beat the location or the luxury of the rooms at the price.Florence was hot, extremely crowded and we were grateful to have a cool beautiful retreat after a hectic day. We paid 145 euros cash...

From the moment we arrived we were treated as if we were the only guests at the B&B - we did see others but never were disturbed by anyone else. Jeffrey is a true gem and was always helpful and very informative. The rooms are spectacular and very comfortable. We stayed in the "Lorenzo" room and thought it was very comfortable. Great location, near some great restaurants and sights. I would not recommend staying there with small children since it isn't really equipped. No elevator, several flights up!

Stayed at Dream Domus based on TripAdvisor reviews. The reviews are accurate as to location, room size, decor, amenities, and cleanliness. All excellent. If you want a B&B in a big city, I imagine Dream Domus is a good choice. However, when we return to Florence we will more likely choose a conventional hotel. Firstly, after a day of walking the city, climbing the three flights was often an uninviting task. Second, we could have used a place to relax or have a drink outside the room. In Dream Domus, we essentially went to the room and left the room. We would have liked more facilities. (But maybe that was OUR problem with a B&B in concept, and not Dream Domus in particular.) The breakfast was so-so. We would have been better off with no breakfast so we could enjoy the offerings of the neighborhood cafes. Geoffrey did everything, and though he was quite respectful, he was disconcertingly reserved, you know, one or few word responses all followed by at least one "Sir." Certainly not engaging or embracing. Lighten up, guy! Make your guests seem a bit welcomed. Anyway, for a B&B, Dream Domus is quite nice. For a Florence experience, you might consider something more conventional. (By the way, try eating at Ringo's -- sit at the counter, and Cingale Bianco -- both on Jacoby Street near the Ponte Vecchio.)
