We recently spent seven wonderful nights in this amazing hotel. Fabrizio and his son Tomaso made our trip to Florence memorable. The location cannot be better and the service cannot be surpassed. From wonderful breakfasts to amazing "happy hours"we felt a warmth and hospitality that was second to none. To us, there is no other hotel in Florence that can touch the Davanzati!!!!!

davanzati was one of our favourite hotels. the room was big and the internet connection was awesome as the kids would say. it was so conveniently located that we could walk down easily to the duomo, the uffizi and the accademia. fabrizio recommended an excellent restaurant down the road the first night. the second night he booked us in a michelin starred restaurant and arranged for a cab to take us there. they made us feel welcomed and valued and advised us well on every account. the breakfast was very good and we liked our stay so much that we had come back for an unscheduled stopover at florence and stayed at davanzati. fabrizio made sure that we got the same room and we felt very special.

The Hotel Davanzati is a gem. Nice free breakfast, free evening prosecco and snacks and a
location that can't be beat. The best thing about this hotel, though, is the staff. It's a family run place and they are very friendly and passionate about the quality of their establishment. It almost feels like you're a guest in their home. I heartily recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Davanzati in 2005 and loved it, we had never stayed at a hotel before that felt so personal and welcoming, we fondly remembered the happy hour's delicious complimentary house wines and nibbles with the family owners.
We returned to Florence for the first time recently and booked to stay with the Davanzati.
A few days before we were due to arrive we emailed them to ask them to arrange dinner reservations and to book some museums and they replied immediately with concern that they could not find our booking.
It turned out they had a technical glitch, our room had been reallocated and they were now fully booked.
This would be reason for a negative review were it not for the way they handled this. They immediately emailed to say the mistake was theirs, not to worry in the least and that they would solve the issue. On arrival the owner Fabrizio apologised profusely and sincerely and explained what had happened. He then walked us around the corner to another hotel which he had booked for us to stay in and made sure we were checked in before leaving us there. It turned out that he had booked a hotel with a higher star rating, which had a view of the river and the bridges and it was obvious that it was not a freebie. Fabrizio also insisted we join them for the happy hour and had booked everything for us. While it was disappointing not to stay at Davanzati - it may not have had as high a star rating but it would be my preferred stay - this was a masterclass in putting a mistake right and genuinely caring about your customers.

We stayed for three nights at the Davanzati in late September. It's absolutely beautiful! Fabrizio makes every guest feel welcomed and valued. The room was huge & elegantly decorated. Fabrizio recommended Girandi's restaurant - it was very good. Do try Giovanni's right down the street - we loved it so much we went two out of our three nights. Next time we go to Italy, I want to spend more time in Florence. It's so much cleaner and prettier than Rome! Of all the places we went, Florence & Venice were my favorites - also Orvieto - a quaint little village on top of a hill. The evening happy hour & breakfast at the Davanzati were top notch. Anyone who stays here will love it. The location is perfect - you can walk everywhere from this hotel. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary during our vacation. One evening we came back to our room & Fabrizo had given us a lovely bottle of wine with a nice card. This hotel was our favorite in our two week vacation in Italy. What a gem!!!

Room Tip: We traveled with a friend and both of our rooms were beautiful. I doubt there is a bad room.
