We got a small room at this hotel next to the breakfast room. It was a bit tight but doable. We arrived in Florence to a 40C heat so the AC could barely keep up, but the room had an AC! Location was good near many restaurants and convenient stores (must try Fuoro Matto restaurant around the corner, so good and it has a kids play room!). The hotel staff was very friendly and Joseph (I think that's was his name) was a life saver. I wanted to find some local activity to do with with my 5 yr old daughter, as it was too hot! He was very patient and helpful and recommended the city "piscina" (swimming pool) which was the perfect thing to do with kids. Easy bus ride to the pool. My husband and I took turns going to the museums and tours and taking the little one to the pool. (Thanks, Joseph!).
The hotel breakfast is quite good, it has quite a good variety and the staff are very gentle and kind. Make sure to ask for the cappuccino!
I would stay here again.

Lovely little hotel with lots of bars and restaurants around, very good location for exploring Florence within easy walking distance of all the major sights. Room small but acceptable and a very good breakfast included.

Room Tip: First floor room are same level as breakfast buffet and it starts from 6.30 getting prepared.

This hotel is perfect for those on foot from the train station. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Wifi worked well on the first floor and in the excellent restaurant right next door. The beds were firm but we all slept well. The heat pump made our days as the temp outside reached 37c.

Room Tip: rooms at the back of the building would be quieter

Before our visit I emailed to ask for a quiet room and was kindly given room 210. This faced the back garden which had a view of the Duomo, which is 10 minutes away.

It was a clean large family room with tv, aircon, fridge, large bathroom with good shower, toilet bidet, sink and hairdryer (toilettries provided).

Breakfast was €10 for pastries, Italian biscuits, breads, yogurts, fruits, nuts, mozzarella, cheeses, ham, salami, salad, olives, coffee and juice etc plenty for the day ahead. They also have a selection of gluten free products.

We had no problem with wifi. But what you must remember in Italy is that you turn off your phone and restart it turning off your automatic roaming and choose each provider until you get the best reception.

The hotel is near to local supermarkets, laundrettes etc and if you don't want to pay extortionate restaurant prices there are plenty of trattorias in the square next to the mercato centrale or you can go upstairs in there to order every food imaginable but a little pricey.

Staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our 5 nights and we couldn't ask for more.
So if we get the chance to come back to Florence we will definitely return to Hotel Caravaggio

Stayed here for five nights, room was nice and clean, we had a family room, which was very spacious for just the two of us. Room had air conditioning, which was fantastic given the average temperature was above 30 degrees centigrade, very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast is a cold buffet, croissants and pastries, cold meats, cheese, olives and such like, breads, cereals, yogurt, preserves, juice, water and coffee, cost of 10 euros per person. Room has a reasonably priced mini bar, television and safe. Bathroom with shower, toiletries towels etc.
All in all a very nice place to stay, good value for money, approximately 10 minutes walk to the major attractions
Along the same road you will find a laundrette and mini supermarket, and just off the road is the piazza market centrale, where there are several reasonably priced restaurants
