A resonable hotel in a good location with all major sites within about 20 min walk. Room was clean and confortable and also came with a kettle which is a plus in Italy. Staff were friendly enough and breakfast was good continental with coffee constantly being topped up.

Stayed: April 2012

This is a very good hotel to stay in Florence. The hotel is located close to the city centre, within walking distance to main museums, historical buildings and it is good value for money. We found the hotel staff very helpful, friendly and professional. We are pleased to recommend this hotel to anyone with no hesitation.

My wife and son and I stayed here for 2 nights in March 2012 and could not have been happier. The location near the train station and all the major sights of Florence was great. The breakfast room on the second floor was a bright and pleasant area with a good selection. After a long day of sightseeing it was a pleasure to return to the hotel and enjoy a glass of wine in the small patio at the rear of the hotel. Staff was pleasant and were able to recommend 2 restaurants to us which we quite enjoyed. We would recommend this hotel for those on a budget.

Great little hotel convenient for both the station and sights alike. Absolutely fantastic value to boot. Small but comfortable. Functional room tastefully decorated. Only one gripe, didn't like the 'hold the button down' hairdryer which is a real pain if you've got long hair. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Best part was the guy on reception who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Shame we were only in Florence for one night as I would have happily stayed here for longer.

We stayed at the Hotel Caravaggio. Piazza Indipendenza 5, 50129 Florence Italy in October 2011. This hotel was very reasonably priced approx. with the Rand to Euro rate at the time of booking which was March 2010 it worked out at €285 for two people for three nights. The hotel price included a continental breakfast. We had comfortable beds with our own bathroom and TV. This hotel was absolutely ideally placed for our visit. It was a 10 minute walk from the bus station, the Duomo, the Uffizi, in fact just about everything. The only slightly down side was that our room looked out onto a service area in the centre of the building, but the sights in the rest of Florence made up for that.

When we arrived we were met by friendly staff who gave us a map of Florence and then took the time to mark where we were on the map and tell us about the main attractions in Florence and marked them on the map as well. These attractions were all within walking distance. We found the staff to be excellent, especially the reception staff who always had a warm word of welcome and were ready to help us with information and taxis.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Duomo or else not looking onto the service area in the middle of the building
