We really enjoyed our experience at Hotel Andrea. It was close to everything in downtown Florence, affordable and clean. The A/C also worked really well. The staff was also friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice little hotel that's affordable.

Very nice hotel, our friends got a nicer view from the window than us. Shower was not very good, but bed comfy and rooms nice.

Would be nice if they mentioned that the hotel is located on the top floor of a residential building. They do have a life but looked a bit shaky so did not use it. (Not a great lover of these incase they break down).

Good advice from the hotel on were we could eat at night.

Breakfast was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the garden.

To whoever is looking for an house's atmosphere, an old style, well here they will find it. It's intimate, situated at the third and forth floor of an old Florentine palace. The reception is always opened and it situated near the train station and it is possible to walk to downtown in 10 minutes.

Overall the hotel was good. We stayed 4 nights and found the location to be great, close to attractions and has restaurants, supermarket and laundromat nearby. Internet worked. The view from our room was great overlooked the park and we could see the top of the duomo. The room was big however pillows were so flat didn't even feel like we had a pillow. One problem we had was we had a tour booked and needed to leave hotel before breakfast was served. Everything was laid out for breakfast and we were 25 mins early and even after explaining we had a tour booked they wouldn't let us have breakfast and I ought this was poor. I would however stay there again.

We stayed Hotel Andrea for our Italy tour. The hotel and the staff was amazing. Our room had very fantastic, panoramic view of the Firenze. We were easily to visit all the places that we want. The people were very interested in with their customers. Thanks to everyone for their kind behaviours.

The staff is fantastic! The room, the location, the breakfast are excellent too.
We really liked this hotel, mainly the staff, that help you in everything that you need.
Piazza Indipendenza is a beautiful place to stay, and near the main atractions.

Room Tip: The apartments with view to Duomo are very nice.

We stayed at Hotel Andrea in September 2012. When we arrived they put us in an extremely small room. The bathroom was extremely tiny and it was literally difficult to actually take a shower due to the size. The room was small too, the bed took the entire room. Basically they had taken a room and had built a very tiny bathroom within the room. I have never seen something like that and I was born in Europe and I am used to the small size of things. The air conditioning was not working and the receptionist said, just to open the window. She came to "fix it" and pretended she does not know it is broken when it was obvious she knew. There were no mosquito nets and when I pointed out taht mosquitoes will come in if we open the door she said, just plug in the anti-mosquito device. Like they work! She was very rude and even said that we are young, so we should be able to deal with this! She also said: "What do you want with me, I am just a receptionist" and then said "Sorry but I have to go back to the receptionist desk and cannot stay here and deal with this". That original roomw as Room 10, so avoid it!
We complained the next day to the manager and they offered us two other rooms. Both of the other rooms were much better and we moved to one of them. I should point out that there is a huge difference from room to room in this hotel, so you may have a good experience or an awful one. The room we moved to was room 11 and it was nicely designed and all purple, there is a picture of it on this site. We have placed a picture of the floor plan and note the difference in room sizes. We were in room 10, they offered us room 11 and 15. 15 was quite big, but had a worse view. 11 was nice with better view but smaller than 15 . Room 11 was much bigger than 10 though.

Finally, breakfast was not great. The bread was old and hard and the variety of food was very poor. I definitely don't recommend staying there, unless you have the option of choosing your room, which I don't think is going to happen.
