“5 star service”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

This is probably the perfect place to stay in Florence. The location is exactly where you would want to be with shops, restaurants and all major sight seeing within minutes walking distance. The service is friendly, attentive and the staff want to make your stay as easy as possible. They pay attention to the small details - quality candles burning all day in common rooms, beautiful books everywhere, comfortable chairs etc etc...We loved the absence of petty charges for soft drinks and nibbles. Breakfast is excellant - just ask for what you want if its not on the buffet table. Bedrooms are lovely with fresh linen every day (possibly a bit small but this is a Florence town house) The terrace in front of the hotel is a lovely place to enjoy a superb dinner.

This was our second visit to Florence & this was the perfect place to stay! From the second we walked in the door, the service was incredible! The entire hotel is gorgeous! The breakfast was extensive (service to your room was included, which was great since our room was right off the outdoor patio so we ate out there). They made our dinner reservations for us. Because they did it for us, we were greeted at the restaurant each time with Prosecco & offered an after dinner drink (both on the house). I definitely have a suggestion which was passed on to me... before making your reservation here, join slh.com (small luxury hotels). It's a free membership but by booking through them, we got a free lunch (or dinner) included in our stay. I will definitely stay here for my next visit to Florence!

This is a lovely hotel. The service was unbelievable. Position is very good. However some of the rooms are very poor. Initially we were placed in a room with windows and the door which opened onto a public corridor. At the price of the hotel and room, I was extremely dissapointed. I, therefore, upgraded to an amazing room (the master room) - very spacious that overlooked the piazza. There are some other strange rooms that we looked at as well - on 2 floors etc. But the master room we stayed in, which was admittedly pretty expensive, was lovely.

Room Tip: Master Room is fantastic. Some of the other rooms can be very poor.

We stayed just for one night on travelling through from Venice to the Tuscan country side.
This hotel is stunning, the small details and general design is spot on.
The staff are fantastic, very warm and welcoming. However I would say on checking in we were left for around 30 mins in the lounge while they checked if our room was ready as we were early. It was ready in the end but we were just left without being told we needed to wait to check in. Apart from that the service was excellent.
The room was beautiful but it was very, very small. I know it wasn't going to be huge but we really struggled with our luggage to fit in and be able to dress and undress! I'm not sure what the solution is but maybe another case stand might help. Anymore than a night and we might have gone crazy falling over our bags!
The one main disappointment in an otherwise great stay was the breakfast.
The setting was very pleasant around a communal table but the selection on offer was below standard - pastries, dried fruit, cereal and colds meats/cheeses. There was no fresh fruit and no option for anything hot. I was very, very surprised at this considering they have a restaurant in the hotel. I have to say it was one of the most basic breakfast's I've ever had. We have stayed in £100 or less hotels and still been offered fresh fruit and a choice of eggs at least.
For such a fantastic hotel and the the money charged the breakfast really should be something special and at the moment it's way off the mark.

Would I reccomend this hotel to a friend, yes probably but pre warn them about the very small rooms and poor breakfast.

I highly recommend this beautiful boutigue hotel situated in the heart of Florence. The staff provide excellent service and are on hand to recommend places of interest and restaurants to eat in. The hotel is small and is like a very trendy home with muted colours, lovely furniture and tasteful prints and candles. Breakfast is a very pleasant experience being given the choice of eating at a large dining table or at smaller tables in a lounge area. The roof top terrace provides you with a fantastc view of Florence and is a great place to sip a glass of wine whilst watching the sun go down. It is one of the loveliest hotels I have ever stayed in and would definitely go back. Please visit if you want to experience an elegant home style hotel with fabulous service.

If you love a smaller boutique hotel that makes you feel like you are living in a fantastic home in Florence, look no further. We were lucky enough to stay here 5 nights. Our duplex room overlooking Santa Maria Novella square had the nicest amenities. We were welcomed with wine, fruit basket and beautiful roses to begin our stay. We got to know the staff who were absolutely amazing! They made you feel so welcome and comfortable in an elegant yet understated setting that was first class. We enjoyed lunch on the square one sunny afternoon and had our first negroni cocktail here. After days walking around the city, or touring the Tuscan hills, we would come back to a warm embrace of "can we bring you a glass of rosa!" We loved this welcome home treatment. Take full advantage of sitting in the living room, the roof terrace, and even the room off the breakfast room to enjoy a drink or snack. You feel like you are in a home. I have travelled all over the world and to be in a place that makes you this comfortable is a rare find. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. They take care of you! Thank you JK Place for making us feel incredibly special.

Room Tip: We loved being on the square.

Search no further, the JK place is the best towel we ever stayed in Florence. We stayed in numerous hotels,The Savoy, lungarno,Torre Antica, lungarno suites all very nice but JK is by far still the best! I love the idea that it only has 20 rooms so it has that feel of a home owned by a classy friend...everything is done with taste. The location is really great as it is on the Piazza Santa Maria Novella and so close to all the major sights.Breakfast was great and the complimentary snacks all day was a plus. The rooms are small but luxuriously appointed and the people at the hotel were very helpful in giving advice on what to do.
I liked the buca Mario,il latini and Roberto Cavali cafe all so lose to the hotel.i highly recommend the leather shop Cellerini with is just around the corner and also the farmacia Santa Maria Novella.Don't miss visiting the mercato central !
