The service at the desk and in the lounge was very good.
The bar man "Jimmy" was outstanding and truly made us feel welcome, he and everyone there went out of their way to make us feel at home.

The fresh breakfast food and service was very good.

I went to Italy on a business trip just this June and stayed at 7 different hotels raging from 3-5 star. This was by far my favourite and even though its 4-star it beat out the 5-stars by a mile.
The front staff is fully bilingual and very helpful. I believe someone commented that they aren't super 'warm', which is true. They weren't as friendly as in other places but as they were professional and knowledgeable that was good enough for me.
The breakfast is amazing, especially considering the fact that it's free. It had more choice than some of the buffets we paid for.
The parking is paid parking but it's not overpriced and it's in the hotel's private underground parking so your car is basically at your immediate disposal.
The hotel is decorated in a very specific, kind of art-nouveau style which some may like and some not. However, setting aside personal decorating taste, the hotel is immaculately clean, the rooms are spacious and I particularly loved the fact that the bathroom was huge.
Oh, and best of all the internet actually works and doesn't break up all the time, which seems to be the issue at most Italian hotels, regardless of star rating and whether the internet is paid or free.
It's located right outside of the city centre and is an easy walking distance to all the main sites, while at the same time being in a peaceful courtyard.

All in all, I have nothing negative to say about this Hotel and would love to try other hotels in this chain.

I would suggest this place for any type of trip - romantic, business, solo etc...

Room Tip: When you get a basic room, upon check-in they ask if you would like an upgrade for 25 eu. TAKE IT...

Stayed at this hotel with my hubby on our second honeymoon to Italy. The room was incredible! So beautiful and so cool. The shower was great too. The room has LED lights that turn the room into a romantic evening under the stars. They even offer you a choice of pillows depending on yr neck and sleeping preferences. Also if you need a manicure, shaving, hair, dental accessories they will give you free of charge! The location wasn't the best, but we hired bicycles and made our way around. The great thing is the hotel has a shuttle which you can book to take you to the station, which is free of charge daily. Great hotel, great value! Also loved the snacks they serve at the bar in the early evening- free of charge.

We arrived in Florence a day before our baggage, and the people were super helpful and friendly! (and our bags were magically in our room the next afternoon) They recommended some non touristy restaurants and we loved one so much we ate there twice. It is so nice to have a decent breakfast included in the price. I feel like this is hard to find in Europe. The rooms were very clean, but in need of some updating/repairs in the bathroom. Unfortunately we got the black room instead of one of the more fun colors! No big deal except the reading lights hardly give off any light. Taxis always arrived in under 3 minutes. It was a decent walk from all the main attractions, but many times we wished it was just a tiny bit closer. We thought we had wifi included in the price but we didn't (this could be Expedia's fault and not theirs), so if we needed it we had to pay 3 euros for 30 minutes. (They have other internet deals, that was just the best for us)

I have concluded my stay at UNA Vittoria with mixed feelings. This is a "design" hotel, with fancy interiors and a fantastic lobby area, as well as great service and decent breakfast. Loved it! However, my impression was that the hotel is simply "overdesigned". Although it looks good, it is not 'user-friendly': e.g. it takes some time before you learn how to operate the lights system in the room, the electronic safe box was not working at all, the air-con was noisy...and the room I got was incredibly small.
The location could be better, you need approximately 20 minutes afoot to reach the Duomo. On the other hand, there is a parking space, priced at 20 euro / day, which is reasonable for this part of Florence.

My sister and I stayed here last weekend, 12-14 May. We arrived at the SM Novella Train station and our van was waiting (the free shuttle van has scheduled times for pick up and drop off) and the 5 minute ride was easy, Check in was fast, and we stored our suitcase until the afternoon, check in time is after 2:00pm.
The hotel is a 15 minute easy walk along the Arno River and very easy, and beautiful, or the # 6 bus comes 1 block (150 feet) from the hotel every 15 minutes, or less..
Room was a nice size with 2 twin beds and a lovely size bathroom. The Lighting on the walls and ceiling looked like stars all night..we loved it!
Breakfast was awesome with a lot of choices, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, and different breads and pastries.
Loved the service, the Front Desk all spoke English, and were happy to give any help.
Great restaurant 2 blocks away, pizza was very good as were the prices, and this is located in a family area- so it was locals eating there on a Sunday night.

Sometimes you just know from the moment you walk in.
There was a strange atmosphere at the check-in desk. We missed the true 'welcome' we've gotten so many times at other, similar hotels. And what suprised us the most was that the 'clean' look from the pictures we saw didn't live up to reality. There were even used napkins on the floor in front of the reception. Several staff members just walked by and ignored the 'dirt'. In general staff gave a rather 'lazy' impression.

Upon arrival the setting of the hotel put us of a bit. The hotel is tucked away behind some 'shabby' flats and isn't quite in the center of Florence. We parked the car in the cramped underground parking, but let me give you a useful piece of advice (for your wallet): don't park your car there. They will charge you 20 euros a day, while other hotel guests just leave their car on the sidewalks near the reception. Since it's within the hotel premises and the main gates were open the whole time we were there, you can easily park there (for free!).
The rooms are designed in such a way that they miss every sense of warmth and hospitality. The outlay of our room was very odd, with most sun light blocked out of the room. Overall the whole room was a perfect example of design taken to the clinical level. Nice on pictures. But not to live in! Especially the bathroom (we called it 'the butcher shop') and bed area gave us the creeps. We had one of the rooms where the bedroom walls and ceiling are covered in black leather. The only thing missing: the x-rated movie crew. We expected them to walk in at every moment.
We had booked a 2 nights stay, but left the hotel after one night and found ourselves a new place to stay. The new place saved our trip to Florence.
We are frequent travelers and would like to give you this advice: don't spend your money on this overpriced place. Don't be fooled by the looks. We can recommend you better places to stay in Florence.
