Do not stay here! We stayed here for two nights, and it was absolutely horrible. I totally agree with the previous review about the apathetic and negligent management. Our air conditioning did not work and the control was broken. Although they said that they would fix it, they did nothing while we boiled. The Wifi is so weak that you have to be right next to the front desk for it to work. The breakfast was disgusting.

The piazza is not worth staying near. It lacks character, is noisy all night long from drunks and the view is of the first floor loggia. At 6:00 AM, a horrific noise starts as the sewage trucks begin their work. Stay elsewhere!!!

Beware, would not stay here again, when we arrived, the toilet did not work, told the manageress, she said she would get it fixed, we went out, came back two hours later, nothing was done to fix toilet. Asked for another room, manageress flatly refused , said it only little problem, still not fixed after five hours, said it not her problem. We left and went to Hotel Giglio, fantastic staff, what a difference!

Manuela was magnificent! When we first arrived, they were full with a school group, so our triple room was a little tight. Manuela told us to wait a couple of days and she'd get us a larger room, which she did.

Manuela was also quite helpful in suggesting restaurants, the best way to get to Siena for a day, etc.

The decor was quite elegant, including the breakfast room. The continental buffet had a better selection than many other Italian hotels. There's a nice patio, if you're there when the weather's good.

Our rooms were right across from Santa Maria Novella church, so we did get some noise from folks outside if we had the windows open. If you really want quiet and darkness, you can close the shutters, the windows, the inner shutters, and the drapes.

The hotel could use the services of a handyman. Our first room had a toilet that didn't want to flush. Our second room had a bathroom door that didn't want to close.

I've stayed at the Domus Florentiae for one night only, while going around the Toscana in Italy. The check-in process was OK, and all the employees were very friendly and willing to help with anything.

The location of the hotel is excellent, though I had a hard time finding it because it's on a little street that does not appear in the maps!!! However, it was worth it. The impression when entering was really moving... a very well restored palazzo with the romantic environment of the Renaissance

The rooms are quite small but very convenient for a solo traveller, and perfectly clean.
The breakfast is not as good as I expected: self-service pre-packed biscuits and pastries and regular coffee. It worked anyway for a two-day trip to Firenze.

In my opinion, a very good choice for a short stay. I would definitely come back!

The person who staffed the front desk was completely incompetent and seemed apathetic to the fact that we were driving around Florence for 3 hours trying to find parking to check in to the hotel...he failed to tell us that the hotel has its own personal parking valet who could take care of parking for us for 24 Euros/night, which we would have gladly done had we known about the service. His negligence caused us to obtain a ticket from the city, since we traveled in and out of the city several times (which is apparently not allowed and enforced by fines) trying to find parking! The ticket was 90 Euros! This is ridiculous and unacceptable. We also didn't have our sheets cleaned, and when we asked if we could have our room cleaned, they didn't bother. The apathy of this hotel's staff is incredible. I would NOT recommend this hotel to others if you want to have a stress-free and enjoyable stay in Florence.

This Hotel was lovely. Great location, a minutes walk from the train station, but still walking distance to all of the major sights. Spacious rooms, ours had a view over the church grounds and square next door. Clean, with friendly staff. Simple breakfast.
Great location, clean, with friendly and helpful staff, with a good price. Couldn't have asked for more
