“Charming, comfortable budget hotel”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dali! If you're looking for a budget option in Florence, I doubt you'll find anywhere better than here. The owners are exceptionally nice - very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the shared bathrooms are literally spotless. The location is very central (only steps away from the Duomo). Great spot!

We came across this hotel through the reviews on Tripadvisor and are glad we chose this place. It is an excellent value-for-money place in an excellent location. It's very close to the Duomo (hardly a 2 min walk) and most of the important sights/museums are at walking distance. The Firenze S.M.Novella station is also at a walking distance and we didn't have to take any public transport to get to the hotel or to go from the hotel to the station when we were leaving. The place has a lot of eating options around it, too.
About the hotel - Samantha and Marco are wonderful hosts and excellent conversationists! The rooms are very clean and ours was very spacious, in fact, it was a little big for us! The rooms were cleaned everyday. Both of them are very informative and will give you a list of places to see and guide you on how to get there.
The only negative point for us was the wifi. It was available freely in all the rooms, but since our room was right at the back, the signals were feeble and we'd have to open the door and come out into the corridor to be able to access the internet.

Room Tip: I didn't see any fitness centre around there - hence the rating

Great little, inexpensive hotel. The staff stayed up to 2am to settle us in. very helpful, very friendly. Room was clean and bright. no en suite but value for money. Car parking directly opposite 20 euro per 24 hr. we could see Duomo from our window. all the other reviews are dead accurate. would definitely stay here again because of the owners/staff.

We felt so lucky to have found Hotel Dali among all the choices in Florence.
My husband and I spent 7 weeks in the UK, France and then Italy and our stay at Hotel Dali was certainly a high point in our journey.
Wasn't too difficult to find once we figured out the numbering on the street.
Our room overlooked the street in front and leaning out just a little, we could see the Duomo from there. That is how close you are to the "downtown". Everything we needed was provided (needed a hair dryer and corkscrew) but that was no problem.
Rooms were bright, large and clean.
Now, a word or two about St Marco. What a super guy. He was so helpful and so eager to be helpful. Never looked like any guest was an inconvenience to him, gave great advice on best ways to get from point A to point B...I observed him one morning taking the time to help another guest decide whether to take a bus or train to their next destination (he was online, checking schedules for her) Knows his city and restaurants. I only met Samantha briefly , but once again...what a great couple.
I do plan on returning to the Florence area someday, and know exactly where we will be staying!

Room Tip: Even tho we loved the view leaning out the window, the street was a little noisy until late night. R...

We stayed at the Hotel Dali for 2 nights in early October 2012. Marco and Samantha are the warmest, friendliest, most helpful hosts in all of Italy!!! We had wonderful directions, timely reservations and great recommendations for restaurants, all while being perfectly located in the heart of Florence 1 block from the Duomo. Who could ask for more? Well the hotel is also lovingly cared for and clean as a whistle because Samantha spends much of her day cleaning and scrubbing until it is perfect. If you're looking for a great deal in the heart of the city, this is the place to stay!!!!!!

The owners have clearly set out to make this a pleasant place to stay, and have succeeded by creating large, bright rooms with lovely furnishings, mostly antique, and well-appointed bathrooms. Our two rooms (double for 2 adults, triple for 3 teens) overlooked the quiet rear courtyard. The double was spacious enough for a dresser, desk and armchairs. There were a few mosquitoes - not many - and no screens on the windows, but they provided a plug-in insect repellent thing near the bed, which seemed to help. Marco is very helpful with local information and allowed us to leave our (fairly considerable, with 5 of us) baggage near the desk while we went exploring before catching a 2pm train the day we checked out. The Dali is well-located close to both the Duomo and the Uffizi museum - a bit of a walk to/from the train station with luggage, but hardly a death march. We had a little trouble finding the entrance as the illuminated sign was hard to spot in bright daylight, and the buildings have been renumbered at some point with the old numbers left in place. Nice restaurant for lunch across the street with, um, interesting artwork on the walls. We would definitely stay here again.

We came to Florence from Siena and found this lovely little hotel with our satnav. It's on the second floor of an old Florentine block, with a small, quaint lift to it. The owner was great and came with us to find the rear entrance through the back streets of Florence,. We would never have managed by ourselves. The car park is in a courtyard with a tight turn in, but very secure. The owners couldn't have been more helpful, even phoning to reserve tickets at the Accademia for us and printing out the page. The bedrooms are a reasonable size, with a small marble table and a couple of chairs, a basic continental breakfast(2 chocolate croisants, toasts, jam, teabags and instant coffee,) was put there every day.A coffee machine is at the front desk which charges a eiro for a cup.The hotel is situated only about 50yards from the Duomo, perfect for walking around the centre of Florence to all the sights. It was very clean with comfortable beds, no airconditioning but has a fan on the light, we came in October so didn't need any fan, just opened the window at night. Not all the rooms have an ensuite, we shared a shower room, which was very clean, between possibly 2 other rooms. There are other people living above so occasional footsteps can be heard but no noise at night. I would recommend this hotel and would come back.

Room Tip: We looked out the back over the courtyard,Room 6, which was quiet.
