Nadia the staff of this hotel was very warm, kind and informative about the priority place that we have to visit. I thank to her advise when i only have 2hours to look around the city. She sugest me to choose important place tp see and the transportation is very easy. I love Florence or Firenze city i wanna comeback again someday.

We had a wonderful time in Florence but Emmanuela helped make it that way! We were greeted with beverages and snacks to bring on our very own terrace when we first arrived. The mini-fridge in the room was wonderful to keep our drinks cold and there is a supermarket right next door to the hotel which we found very convenient. The breakfast was included in the price and was very good. Amazing coffee! The train station is a 2 minute walk from the hotel which was an added bonus. Emmanuela was fantastic - she spent time with us to explain some of the tours and offered to make reservations for us. She also called to check if some of the museums were open on Mondays. We were also able to leave our luggage with her on our leaving day after we had checked out so that we could enjoy some shopping before taking our train. Mille Grazie Emmanuela! Merci beaucoup!!

My husband, daughter and I stayed at Hotel Berna for 3 nights in the first week of July. We were warmly greeted by Emmanuela who has a lovely, bubbly personality and she settled us into our room with treats. This was a nice touch. All the staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel at home and they can speak very good English. The breakfast is very good with home made coffee (whatever you desire), tea and yummy fresh food. As the hotel is up three flights of stairs there is a small elevator for you or your luggage which is very convenient. Emmanuela even carried one of our smaller bags up the stairs for us when we first arrived which I thought was very nice and put our 3 suitcases in the elevator for us. Our triple room, with one comfortable queen bed and one single, was big enough with our own bathroom and a nice, clean shower. The room has a wardrobe to hang your clothes and a bar fridge with tea/coffee facilities. It's rare you hear other guests in the hallway and it's quiet considering we were at the front of the building and it's near the train station and bus stops. The location is fantastic. It took us 3 minutes to walk with our suitcases from the train station to the hotel building. Just press the security button when you first arrive next to the door on the building and they will unlock the door for you. We also did a day tour of Tuscany and the coach meeting point was a 2 minute walk around the corner. And you can walk anywhere from the hotel and discover beautiful Florence. Thank you ladies for your lovely hospitality.

Room Tip: It has triple rooms which is a bonus.

Am very impressed by the location n room. It is very easy to find this hotel, a short distance away from the train station. When we arrived, the ppl welcomed us warmly like as if we r a family:) As it was my bday, they surprised me with wine n snacks! The room is tastefully decorated in an oriental style n it has a little balcony where u can sit outside n enjoy the sight of the city. It is also within walking distance from some of the major attractions. Totally love this hotel!! Francescea provides excellent service n has a great sense of humor!

Francesca & Emmanuella are wonderful. They take excellent care of their clients. Rooms are modern in function with antique accents for a comfortable stay. I like the balcony rooms in the Berna building. They also have a more "hostel" type environment on the floor above and a more quiet environment in the building across the street. Regardless of which of their properties you use, you will be very satisfied. The location is perfect! Across the street and around the corner from the Santa Maria Novella train station, around the corner from the San Lorenzo Mercato, and an easy walk to Piazza del Duomo, everything you need is within easy reach. And the property managers speak excellent english.

Room Tip: If you want to use the breakfast parlor instead of having it delivered to your room, ask to be in th...

We recently stayed at Hotel Berna while on our honeymoon in Italy. We were a little worried about the 2 star designation but we were trying to stay under budget so we could spend more on the fun stuff while on vacation. We were not disappointed. The rooms were large and clean. The bathroom was clean but a little strange (I think we had the handicap room). The view from the balcony was nice and we were walking distance from most everything. The real plus was the staff. They were beyond helpful and made our stay special. They even did my wife's laundry because the airline lost her luggage and she had limited clothing. How great is that?! They helped with contacting the airline and helped in getting our luggage delivered. We aren't breakfast people but the breakfast we did have was adequate. We also liked the funky decor and the blue lighting that welcomed you back after a night of food and wine. We loved Emanuela and Fransesca and everything else about Hotel Berna. We would recommend it to anyone visiting Florence looking for a great value.

we are very happy that our hotel has welcomed you in a moment as important as the honeymoon. We are delighted with the compliments .... the lost luggage! .... for us it was a real pleasure to help you find him and the same for the laundry that did not cause us any problems . We hope to see you again so much here at 'Hotel Berna and especially here in Florence.

Lets tick the standard tourist boxes first. Close to the train station (2min walk), large clean rooms albeit cluttered with tiny showers and a great continental buffet breakfast BUT the real plus with this place is their friendly & helpful staff (Emanuela, Francesca, Erika & Geta). My wife and I are in the early stages of a 2month Europe/UK holiday and we are very quickly learning that you can achieve a lot more with the guidance of good people. Well done Hotel Berna, I would recommend your establishment.
