Agli Uffizi Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #447 of 659 Florence B&B and Inns

Just spent nearly two weeks at the Agli. On the plus side, the location is truly fabulous - close to everything, particularly the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery - easy to find too. While we definitely needed earplugs at night, it was quieter than I expected. It was clean and tidy and the bathroom was roomy and very modern. On the negative side, it totally lacked character to me and the room looked nothing like their publicity photo. When we arrived, we had to lug heavy luggage up 4 flights of stairs as there's no lift. There was a discrepancy with the amount of the deposit I'd paid; thank goodness I'd kept a photocopy of my payment. There is no-one stationed at the BnB, so the only person you're likely to see is the woman who comes in to make the breakfast (which is totally wheat based) and make the beds - as nice as she was, she speaks virtually no English, so no good for asking directions or assistance (such as when we tried to book a taxi). I don't think I'd go back to the Agli again, despite the great location, but would go for something with a bit more character.

A perfectly located room right in the thick of things but where you can still get a good night's sleep? Must be B&B Agli Affuzi! The room we had was basic, but it was clean, comfortable and quiet. The best thing is the location - so central it's fantastic. Uberto the owner was warm and friendly, we'd definitely recommend for anyone who is prepared to sacrifice luxury for location - it's worth it!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed in the B&B. The location is superb and the rooms are spotless and exactly what one needs when in Florence. Would recommend this place, and the owner is very helpful in booking. Since we have been visiting Florence, Agli Uffizi has been consistent and we look forward to visiting again. This a great place to stay if you want to be in the heart of Florence. All the sights are less than 5mins walk.

If you enjoy the shopping Florence has to offer you can pop back to the hotel to drop off your first load of shopping bags and head straight out again for round two.

The rooms are clean simple, no frills, but lovely and cool and if you get a front room the view is typically Italian.

The only negative comment is the breakfasts are very plain but I guess with all the wonderful coffee and eateries in Florence it isn't much of a problem.

My partner and I have stayed at Agli Uffizi on three separate visits to Florence and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Pros: Very central. Nicely finished in modern style (laminate floors). Good value for money: air con, tv in room, fridge etc.
Cons: Not easy to find! Can be noisy at night due to street revellers (may be worth trying to get a room to the rear of the b&b). They do not accept credit cards, will only accept cash on departure, but did warn us in their e-mail confirmation.
We stayed at the Agli for 2 nights. The owners were very helpful although they do not live in the b&b and therefore they are only available for the morning so any information you need, do it early! The b&b is situated in a side street just off the main square, so you are very close to all the main attractions. However we found it difficult to find as the b&b has no other signage apart from a small label stuck to the doorbell of the apartment. The Agli is at the cheaper end of the b&b market, but we found the room to be well furnished and very clean. Breakfast is served in your room and consisted of coffee and orange juice, croissants and french toast with a selection of marmalades/jam. The b&b (as per most) is situated on the 4th floor of the apartment block, so bear in mind you will have to lug your cases up these stairs!
In all I would rate this b&b friendly and good value for money.

This a wonderfully run B&B with large rooms, wonderful showers and kind, friendly service. You are served a continental breakfast in the morning in your room with coffee/tes/OJ and bread and pastry's. I will stay here again If I go back to Florence! Did I mention its in a perfect spot in the middle of town and very easy to find!

1 block from Palazzo Vechio. 4 blocks from Duomo--wonderful spot--no lift makes it unsuitable for some but for the stout--great B&B.
