My wife and I stayed at the THB for three nights in June, and were thoroughly impressed. We would definitely recommend this property to other travelers.

Service: Excellent service - the booking process was smooth and professional. Before our arrival, we emailed them with many queries, and all were patiently responded to. Through our stay, Claudio and others were always happy to help with our questions. The breakfast was an assortment of breads, cakes (baked, to our astonishment, by Claudio himself), croissants, fresh fruit, cheese and cold cuts - both tasty and filling. The breakfast area itself is a pleasant terrace garden. We were even gifted a lovely bottle of wine on our arrival.

Rooms: Our room and the attached bathroom were both nice and spacious (though we thought the shower cabin could have been slightly bigger). The contemporary painting in the room gives it a lot of character. The set-up was tidy and was cleaned daily; and the beds were very comfy to sleep in. Our room was equipped with a lot of well thought out amenities. There was a desktop in the room (in addition to free WiFi) that was attached to a common printer, a DVD player (and a selection of movies to choose from), wireless headphones for the (flat screen) TV etc. Even the room lighting was pretty sophisticated for a B&B.

Their attention to detail is highlighted in many things - for example, the building door, the flat door and the room door all work with the same key and hence guests don't need to carry a bunch of keys around. Also, one of the plug points in the room worked even when the card key was not inserted in the slot, allowing us to leave things for charging even while going out. Small things, but show how well thought out the set-up is.

The only complaint that we had was the lack of views from the room.

Location: THG is about 20-25 minutes walk from the train station, and about 5 minutes from the Duomo. So fairly central, but since it is in a lane off the main street, you have your privacy and calm. The entrance (ground floor) to the building is a bit dingy and stuffy, but not the B&B (located on the first floor).

THB is a bit on the expensive side, but has excellent service, quality rooms, convenient location and some pretty funky gadgets. It is one of the few B&Bs that provide a steam room and a Jacuzzi! We would definitely recommend a stay here.

As often with the best cities, one expects to have to pay over the odds for quite an average experience. Although this hotel was not by any means cheap (well, it IS Florence!) it was excellent value, and exceeded my expectations in terms of the room and our overall stay.
The location is fantastic, right in the centre a few minutes walk from the Duomo. The room we were given was very spacious, and equipped with everything we could want, plus other little things we would never have thought of. The owner took time to explain everything in the room and also what was available outside e.g. a wide selection of DVDs should you want to take a break in the room for a couple of hours.
Breakfast was excellent - considerably better than the standard Italian hotel fayre of lots of similar cakes and breads only. My husband and I took great delight in boiling our own eggs and making our own soldiers to go with - it has been years! We sat out on the small and pretty patio to eat our breakfast and chat with some other guests about our holidays - most enjoyable.
We would stay here again if we were to return without a doubt.

We stayed at the Tourist House in June of 2013. We were greeted by a really friendly gentleman who took the time to show us all the amenities that our room offered. He also recommended a great little restaurant right around the corner since we hadn’t eaten dinner. It was exactly what we were hoping it would be! The room was extremely clean and was located in a great place for people who are looking to explore Florence. We enjoyed eating breakfast out on the peaceful patio. This would be a place that we would recommend to friends who are looking to visit Florence.

Tourist House Ghiberti is a small boutique hotel that provides all the modern amenities in an old world setting. Our room was very spacious; the double bed was extra large and very comfortable and the breakfast was memorable. A timer and special utensils were provided for us to make boiled or poached eggs to our taste. The ham and cheese, breads, cake, pastry and not forgetting the coffee was most satisfying! You can have a hearty breakfast before you set out for the Duomo, the Uffizzi Museum and many other attractions in Florence on foot. You can also look forward to a hot steaming Sauna and Jacuzzi after a long weary day. The staff was very professional and in particular Claudio who made us breakfast, helped us with directions and went out of his way to make us last minute train bookings. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!
