“lovely hotel in heart of florence”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

I just had my second stay at the Hotel Perseo while on my honeymoon in Italy. The location of the hotel could not be any more central unless it was located *in* the duomo, and yet it feels worlds away inside (aka - quiet and calm). The staff are also lovely and very helpful with booking tickets to the various museums as well as dinner reservations.

Stayed in a triple room at Hotel Perseo for three nights in July. The location is perfect with the Duomo half a block away and a short walk to the train station. We were able to walk to all sites and restaurants without much effort from the hotel, as well as return in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the AC. The room was plain, but very comfortable and had great water pressure. Breakfast was decent and included in the reservation. The staff were both friendly and helpful, including making dinner and museum reservations. It was wonderful to be greeted when arriving and leaving each day and be given recommendations and directions. We had an incident with an ATM machine and couldn't have been in a better place to handle it. Louise gave us the phone, kept us calm and reminded us that we were all safe and in Florence to enjoy our holiday. We strongly recommend this hotel if you want a great location, reasonable price and outstanding staff.

I would defniitely suggest staying here if you are looking for an affordable hotel in a great location! The Duomo and city center is right outside the door, train station just 7 minute walk down the street, and everything else in very close proximity.

Rooms: are very plain, nothing spectacular, however we did enjoy the view of the bell tower right outside the window! AC worked great and this hotel had the best wifi we've encountered during our 2 week trip. Another positive about the room was the excellent water pressure in the shower! I know it sounds silly, but if you stay here, you'll know what I mean!

The breakfast was very good and staff was very helpful. I would defnitely recommend staying here if you don't mind having all of the "bells and whistles" in your room, or maybe just the bells!

Room Tip: I would suggest staying on the 3rd floor, where the front desk and breakfast area are located. We s...

Stayed in Hotel Perseo for three nights in July. Great location a short walk from the train station and the Duomo, so easy to drop back to hotel in middle of day. Lovely clean good sized bedroom. Breakfast was also surprisingly good for an Italian hotel, with fresh fruit, croissants and cappacino. The staff were very helpful and friendly and even gave me some batteries for my camera early one morning before I visited the Duomo. I would recommend this place if you are on a sightseeing trip as the big attractions are all within easy walking distance.

Perfect location. Short walk from the train station and a short walk to everywhere else. Meant we could regularly return to rest from the punishing heat. Extremely friendly and helpful staff - booked restaurant and museum for us, and recommended others. Excellent three star hotel.

Room Tip: Our room at the back was quiet.

chose this hotel based on location and the positive reviews. as expected, our triple room was a bit cramped. breakfast was generous. staff was friendly and helpful. there was a mix-up with a day tour i asked the hotel to book for me. it really ruined my day but the hotel was very gracious in accepting the mistake and made amends by returning my deposit for the tour.
