We just returned from our visit to Florence and highly recommend the Hotel Duomo Firenze. The location cannot be beat (right across from, you guessed it,the Duomo) and the staff are excellent hosts.

Our room fronting the Duomo was relatively quiet (with windows open less so-but still not a problem),clean, and spacious.

The two-person lift taking you from the ground floor adds to the charm.

We look forward to our return trip.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Duomo have a great view- may have more street noise with windows open.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel with an amazing view! The hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner. The breakfast was delicious, and a steal at only 8 euros. And, the breakfast room has fantastic views of the Duomo and a terrace. Our room was spacious, and had a view of the Duomo that was unbeatable! Finally, you could not beat the location, which was on the main square of the Duomo. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

We had a very good experience here. The location is perfect - fall out of the doorway and you can touch the Duomo. My room, too, was just as promised, with a very nice patio facing directly onto the Duomo that was large enough for four or five of us to gather together and have a glass of wine before going to dinner. The rooms were quite small, but, that said, they were clean, the air conditioning was super, and the building, though very old, has a lift (and while it can only accommodate two people at a time, it is a real plus given the age of the building.) We had four rooms altogether. Mine was called 'superior', because of the patio with the Duomo view, but even one of the standard doubles had a very nice view of the city's rooftops and hills of Tuscany. The breakfast was very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: If you're choosing a standard double, I would ask for a room on the fifth floor) with a view of the rooftops over the lower floor rooms that look into the courtyard (which is where several buildings back up to one another.)

This is a great base from which to explore Florence. Our room had a killer view of the Duomo from a private balcony. The hotel was very clean, breakfast was good, staff was helpful and friendly, and the price was reasonable for such a centrally located hotel in Florence. If you want a cookie-cutter American-style chain hotel with large rooms, look elsewhere. But if you value location and old-world charm, you will be pleased with this place.

Price was rather high for what you get but location is terrific - right outside the duomo - and room was reasonable and clean. Shower small but sufficient. Didn't try the breakfast.
Service was friendly. Would recommend it.
