“Best location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

The hotel has been updated a few years ago and is very nice. We had a room on the main street and was amazed that the windows were good enough to keep out the street noise. Room and bath were very good, staff was helpful and wonderful. Great morning breakfast, lovely outside terrace, the same area is used as a bar/restaurant in the evening and the terrace area has some great views. But the best is the location, we could walk to everything, museums, dining, the train station, the leather market, upscale shops, everything! Also they have a lobby cafe, delicous espresso and sweets, but also serves drinks. Just perfect, would stay here again.

I booked this hotel 4 days before arrival. I can't believe it wasn't fully booked considering it was the Easter holiday period for Scottish schools. I have stayed for 6 nights. The staff have excellent manners and customer service skills. The rooms are expertly cleaned each day with loads of fresh towels. Smells very clean. Decor is lovely. Breakfast is excellent. Bacon and eggs available as well as yogurts, cereal, biscuits, coffee, croissants etc.
Staff will give you any info you like. Unlimited wifi during your stay.
Location excellent as it is in Duomo piazza.
This is the only place I would stay in whilst visiting Florence.
I could not praise this hotel enough and well done to all of the staff and owners of this fine place.
We have two rooms. A 3 room with a double and a single bed and a twin room. Both have plenty space and are very comfortable especially the beds. Very quiet hotel considering the location being one of the main tourist areas of central Florence. Mr Pizza a few doors away and the cheapest place to eat in central Florence. A supermarket just across the pointe vechio bridge is the most reasonably priced market to get supplies.

Location and Staffs' service were perfect for us. Rooms were a tad small but shopping around the area makes up for it. It gives you a reason to keep yourselves out and around. The main train station is about 800m away. If you intend to walk from the station, keep in mind the pavement is rough.
By the way, I love the lift. ;-)

If it wasn't for the experience with my particular room, I would rate this hotel with four stars rather than three stars. Nothing can beat this hotel's location - right next to the Duomo, staff are friendly and efficient and the breakfast is good.

However, I booked a room with a view of the Duomo for a surcharge but ended up wishing I had booked a normal room. The surcharge is reasonable as the view of the Duomo is absolutely amazing, but it ended up being one of the noisiest rooms in the hotel (as confirmed by one of the reception staff). I was located right next to the reception and the breakfast area. A fire door is kept open during the day but closed at night, which holds the noise of the reception and breakfast area out during night and early morning but also means loud banging of the door whenever people walk in and out of the corridor. One night I requested for the door to be left open to avoid the banging noise, but of course then there were the sounds from the breakfast area.

In sum, prevent staying in room #33 and you'll have great stay!

We spent 8 days in Florence and all at the Hotel Duomo. The room was spotless, hotel staff was wonderful, the breakfasts are good, the wifi signal was strong, and the location can't be beat. The elevator is a welcomed sight after a day of sight seeing. Our room, Room 40, faced the Duomo, what a joy to start each day with a view of the Duomo. Made up for the 8 days of rain! We would definitely stay here on our next visit to Firenze.

We booked this room the morning we arrived in Florence, and it was more than we ever could have dreamed of. Yes, the shower is a little small, but the view was EXCELLENT. The staff was friendly and very helpful with all of our questions. I will definitely be back!

My friend and I decided to stay in B&B instead of hotels on our Italy trip. The room in Florence was my favorite of all of them.
We had a triplex apartment and the roof overlooked the Duomo. It has a little balcony with a table which was great for some wine and cheese after our daily walks in Florence. The first floor had a kitchen, washer and two "couches". The 2nd floor had a double bed and some drawers while the 3rd floor was the roof. Our room was situated on the 4th floor of the building with two separate hotels on the floors below. There is an elevator.
The windows of the apartment face the street which is LOUD and busy at all hours of the day. Its a main attraction during the day for visitors. Full of part goers at night. Be prepared for that. I didnt mind it because Im a heavy sleeper.
