We stayed for two nights in two rooms (three generations). The people went out of their way to accommodate any request. The rooms were very nice but the air conditioning needs to be upgraded esp. during summer months. Breakfast was very nice as was the little courtyard. It is located near the places you want to go and we would recommend this as a great place to stay while visiting Florence or should I say Firenze. Yes, park in the blue space - no problem.

The air conditioner was noisy and totally ineffective! We opened the window and got eaten alive by mosquitos. The manager was extremely nice but there was no way we were staying a second night. Oh and he forgot to mention some kind of mosquito repellent packet that we were supposed to be able to use in the room. And don't park in the yellow white or red zones by the hotel. You have to go out to the main street and pay for a blue parking space otherwise you have a high risk of getting a ticket.

Dear drew_doc1
I'm really sorry for your unconfortable night.
We are continuing to improve our new managing with better services.
But I need to explain some points:
- the air conditioned generally is the most critical point during the warmest days, also because it's subjective in some limits. But anyway we apologize if the temperature was not cold enought for you.
- the mosquitos are animals ( yes..not so nice.. ) who lives in all countries during all summers and I'm sure that they came in all rooms with open windows.. For that reason we put ( for free ) repellent packets in the room that the customer needs only to insert into the socket.
- unfortunately I'm not yet the Florence Mayor.. but sure, when I'm elected, I will delete all the parking restrictions on the yellow, blue, white and all multicolor public parking spaces. But, in the meantime this is the Florence Municipality situation.
So, dear customer, that's it.
Reading your rewiew, it seems like you was in the Hell..and you wrote even " run down" in the title..
So terrible? Yes?
Ah..or you maybe were writing "runNING down" the stairs, chased by the Godzilla mosquito entry from the window left open..
thank you anyway for being with us and again we apologize for the inconvenience (and the irony.. ).
Ivan

Our family stayed at the Hotel Bonifacio for 3 nights in June. The beds were not that comfortable and perhaps the mattresses need to be changed. The room itself was quiet and offered nice amenities such as a refrigerator and in-room safe. Bathroom was large and clean. Breakfast was simple and basic (bread, cheese, yogurt, coffee, and juice).

Staff was friendly but did not explain at check-in that we were supposed to leave our keys at the front desk whenever leaving the hotel. So, no wonder we were asked to identify ourselves on a few occasions when we returned to the hotel in the evening. At first, I thought this was a bit odd, and after the 2nd night, we realized that the hotel normally has guests leave keys at the front and retrieve them when they return.

Overall, a great value for a hotel within a 10-minute walk of the historic city center.

The hotel is central. My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights. We walked from the train station to the hotel once we found it the first time it was always easy to come and go. Free breakfast is nice, variety good, was late for breakfast one morning but was accomodated very nicely. Karin at the front desk was very friendly, nice and helpful (although afraid of dog) lol. The room was big and clean. Concerns are the torn window curtain, the dirty green carpet runner and the awful smell on first floor near elevator (lift). If those things are corrected then all will be very, very, good at this hotel. Please fix so I can come back for a stay. Thanks Karin and staff!!

The room at this hotel was quite spacious, but the air conditioning did not work at all. Coming on to summer and 33 degrees, the room was like a sauna. Upon opening the window, we were infested with Mosquitos. I asked to be moved to another room where the air conditioning was working, as this is what we had paid for, and the management told us it would be fixed by the afternoon. By the next day, it still was not working. Questioned them again, more untruths and the owner quite abrupt. Asked again to no avail. We have been travelling in Italy for six weeks now, and have had wonderful hotels B&Bs and agrituirismo throughout Italy to date. Friendly kind people that go out of their way to accommodate. We cannot say this about this about the management of this hotel. The orher staff were quite friendly and helpful though. We do not recommend this hotel purely because of the false advertising and the hotel Management.
