The square the fountain resides in is lovely and worth a walk-through. When the fountain is running, the ambiance is wonderful with the beautiful statues and the refreshing sounds of water.

Truly a sight to see especially at night. Make a wish! May are gathered at all hours day and night but truly at night I feel is the best time to view.

The actual Neptune Fountain was under repairs while we were there, but around the left side is a drinking fountain, actually two, one that dispenses still water and one that dispenses sparkling. There was often a line, but the line moved quickly. And as it was June it was quite hot and we kept coming back here to fill our water bottles. Saved quite a bit of money!

You cannot see much as the statue is currently being renovated.
But take a walk around the Piazza and don't miss the various statues on the other side of the museum.

Situated at one end of the Palazzo Vecchio, this is an impressive monument. It is not possible to view it in its full glory at present as there are renovation works taking place and it is part covered by scaffolding
