Hotel La Casa di Morfeo
Ranked #32 of 657 Florence B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 7, 2013

We stayed here for three nights in mid June and it was excellent. The staff are a cut above, so helpful and willing to take the time to make sure you make the most of your time in Florence. This can be form suggesting the best restaurants to booking tickets over the phone so that you can cut out some of the massive ques.

Our room (vaniglia) was very luxurious and included a jacuzzi shower and massive king size bed. I would strongly suggest paying that bit extra to get the premium upgrade as, without wanting to ruin the surprise, it really adds to the experience.

The breakfasts were very satisfying and were varied enough to make sure that you could always have something different each day.

Some people have suggested that the B&B is slightly outside of the centre however having stayed there I wouldnt consider that to be the case. You are within easy walking distance of all the main sites and all of the best restaurants are on your doorstep.

Overall an excellent B&B, we will stay again should we come back to Florence.

I highly recommend Hotel La Casa di Morfeo to anyone visiting Florence. My husband and I stayed in the Orchid room and found it to be clean, comfortable, and quiet. Our host, Clara, was wonderful. She helped us plan our sightseeing and made excellent dining recommendations. The location is also very good, a 10 minute walk to most attractions.

We were delighted to spend three nights at this small hotel. We were treated as welcome house guests. Both Clara and Samuela were charming and did everything to make our stay comfortable. Our room Mimosa was lovely and bright facing the street with a very comfortable large bed. We had a good bathroom with an excellent walk in shower, constant hot water. We thought it was nearer to the town centre than had been indicated. it didn't take us long at all to get any of the attractions. Clara and Samuela recommended some local restaurants which were all excellent, serving very good food. Breakfast was continental plus, for instance eggs could be prepared fresh to order. The coffee was excellent prepared by a polite and cheerful young man who looked after the small breakfast room. We would happily stay again should we return to Florence in the future.

This small boutique hotel was a great find for us. We were in the room Iris for 2 nights and then in Anemone for 1 night. The staff is extremely delightful and helpful. Samuela welcomed us and although we check in earlier than the given time, she had made sure our room was ready by the time we arrived. Rooms are spacious and clean and the shower area is wonderful. Breakfast was lovely, with a good addition of scrambled eggs to the more common croissants and pastries you get everywhere in Europe.
The only issue we had with this otherwise lovely experience was in the room Anemone where air conditioning problems made our last night here slightly uncomfortable. We had to prop open our window but that reeled in a couple of mosquitos. When we complained about it the next morning, Clara was more than apologetic about it and compensated with a discount in our total bill. I guess this is one of those things that can happen at any hotel but the way they dealt with it ensured we didn't leave this place with a bad taste in the mouth.
Definitely recommended!

My husband and I just came back from a 4 night stay at Hotel La Casa di Morfeo. Tripadvisor considers this a "Bed and Breakfast" but it really a hotel with only 9 rooms. So we really didn't know what the expect but we were really impressed and absolutely loved it! The best part about it only having 9 rooms is that the service is amazing, all of the girls who worked the desk were incredibly helpful, especially Clara, as well as Manuelle who helped out at breakfast! They gave us the best tips about where to eat and where to shop (where the Locals go) which was exactly what we were interested in doing. We also stayed in the most beautiful room, Giglio Bianco, it is one of the furthest ones away from the reception area and its an all white room with historic details and mirrors on the walls. The coolest thing about this place is that you are basically on the second floor of an apartment building- so it really has that "homey" feeling and after 10pm no one is working the front desk, so you really feel like you are coming home to your "apartment
in Florence, which we thought was cool! We had not one thing bad to say about this hotel- we would stay there again in a heartbeat! They actually have a sister hotel closer to the train station, the location of this hotel was a little further out but Florence is a pretty small city and we walked everywhere! I would definitely recoomend this hotel!

Room Tip: Definitely request the Giglio Bianco, it is the most beautiful, all white room with historic details...

The hotel is within 10-15 mins walking of all the sights and areas in Firenze. It is not exactly central but is within the central area. The rooms are super - well equipped and with lovely large beds. The staff are excellent, helpful and friendly. Breakfast is well presented. For a hotel with under 10 rooms this is a great place to stay in Florence.

What a treat, with clean, well-appointed, and private rooms. Hosts were very attentive and the place is well worth the few extra blocks of walking from the big-ticket Florence attactions. After the grunge of massive old tourist hotels with indifferent, hassled staff, you might try this place for a change...plus it is just barely enough outside of the tourist ghetto to give you a taste of the daily life of the regular folk. It was a bady-needed pick-me-up....thanks for making us feel at home!
