There are very few active synagogues in Italy that can be toured and this is one. It is magnificent in architecture. The museum part is small, but informative and moving. There is someone there to explain the history of Jews in Florence and talk about the present. With all the magnificent churches, this is something different for most travelers and just as important to the city's history.
