Recommended length of visit: <1 hour
Owner description: This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

A nice visit to the piazza but there was too much of crowd trying to take photos of Florence city. We just went around the piazza, which had a lot of buzz around especially because they had some show planned there in the evening. The statue provided some good photo ops. All in all, one should definitely go to this place along with Basilica Di San Miniato al Monte.

We had 4 nights in Florence and chose to go to Piazzale Michelangelo on our 3rd Day for the sunset. The bus from the foothill was not as frequent as mentioned on the bus timetable at the bus stop. We waited almost 45 to 50 minutes and got the bus finally. The Piazzale itself is gorgeous with David as the center of attraction. People lined the walls to see the sun go down. It was a great sight. Loads of people, paintings getting sold, people chattering, clicking, just sitting and drinking, waiting for the sun to melt into the river.

Florence looked glorious from here and the sunset truly breathtaking! Must see when in Florence.

This was a good place to aim for.we did this trek in daylight hours-I'm sure it's different in the dark.but an even better view was to be had by climbing up the next bit and visiting the church at the very top.

Take the bus (or walk) to find some of the best views of Florence! We were there at sunset and it was gorgeous.
