Fee: No
Recommended length of visit: <1 hour
Owner description: This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

Wide open and had several statutes on display of which I had only seen in pictures. Great place to spend some time before heading to one of the museums in the area

Buy a bottle of wine from one of the vendors (or bring it with you) and have some wine on the steps while watching the sun go down over the many bridges over the Arno.

Fantastic view of the city and the river with all its bridges. Take the hike and pose with one of the many "David" imitation statues.

This is the best place to park if you're driving here. Stunning view of the city and a quick walk down to get into Florence, just make sure you've saved some energy at the end of the day to walk back up, those stairs never seem to end!
We got what we call "tourist tax" last time, it's free parking all day with a massive sign stating that however on this occasion there was half a piece of paper with handwritten note (saying we couldn't park there in the afternoon) stuck to the bus stop, not the parking signs which is where you would look to get parking availability information. At least 6 traffic police putting tickets on every car, needless to say they met their quotas that month!

Worth the climb up the many stairs or steep roads. You get a panoramic view of all Florence and it is much larger than you may think.
