I was in Florence in mid-September with my sister and our parents who are in their mid-60s. We found Francesca (and Fantastic Florence) through the amazing reviews on Trip Advisor. We had Francesca as our guide for three full days in Florence. Before the trip, we emailed sites/museums we wanted to see and Francesca designed the itinerary. She took into account what we wanted to do as well as the walking limitations of my parents. This was a difficult task because of the UCI Road World Championship which took place between 9/22-9/27. Many of the main roads were closed to pedestrian traffic for most of the day except a one hour period at noon. Francesca kept us informed and created an incredible itinerary taking all of this into account. Francesca met us the first day at the condo we rented. She is smart, friendly, funny, and enthusiastic. The next three days were incredible as Francesca took us to the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Bargello, Accademia, Piti Palace, Medici Chapels, and a ton of other places. Her knowledge base regarding history, art (painting and sculpture), architecture, and culture is excellent. She loves her city and it shows. She drew us into conversations about art, Greek and Italian history/politics, and architecture. When we were in the museums, other tourists would stop and listen in on her descriptions of the paintings, sculpture and the history behind the paintings. They wished they were with us and had Francesca as their guide! She also took us to amazing restaurants and cafes that were frequented by locals. I have already recommended her to friends traveling to Florence in a few months. One final word: AWESOME.
