We loved our stay at B & B Soggiorno Panerai. We wished we could have stayed longer, once we saw how wonderful the room was and how charming the owners, Walter and Albena, were. Breakfast, which was served in the room, was delicious. Our room was located close to both the Accademia and the Duomo. The frescoed ceiling really added to the atmosphere. What a wonderful location and special place to stay.

When we arrived I was sceptical when I saw the huge door, and wondered what was behind it. I need not have worried, the property housed several rooms of which we had the chance to look at two to decide which we would like to stay in. We choose a large room overlooking the front street, there was no noise at any time and the room and bathroom was extremely clean and spacious with lots of room storage. The fridge was stocked with bottles of beer, water and prosecco for purchase, and the bathroom was stocked with minature toiletries. Breakfasts were cooked fresh to order by Albena, and brought to our room, giving us a great start to the day.
Florence was perfect, only a half day of rain whilst there, and Albena duly provided us with umbrellas.
Would recommend this property without doubt, clean and very central could not ask for anything more to use as a base for our stay in Florence. We have to return soon and will make this our first choice.

Can't say enough good things about this place! The owners, Walter and Albena, are very friendly and were super helpful whenever we had questions or needed advice. Knowing it was my wife and I's honeymoon, they gave us the biggest room in the B&B, which had a nice balcony overlooking the street and an incredible view of Duomo. The location is fantastic and within walking distance of just about everything in Florence. Albena served breakfast in our room every morning and it was delicious. We will absolutely stay here again next time we visit Florence.

We booked this B&B because of great reviews on TA. I have to admit that we're not happy when we first checked in. It's a strange feeling like you are staying in somebody's house. However, things got better and better once we got to talk to the owner. She is so friendly and always...I mean always willing to help in whatever she possibly can. Like my friend said it's not the hotel that reminds him of accommodation in Florence, but it's the personality of the owner would:-) She reminded us of Julia Child...the way she speaks with high tone and that personality. Love it dear!

Anyways the hotel is clean and centrally located in the heart of Florence. You are only a few minutes walk to Duomo and surrounded by nice restaurants. If you need to do laundry as we did, there is a Laundry shop next to it. Very convenient indeed! Don't need to buy detergent from there, just let the owner of B&B know and she would eagerly offer you some.

OK now a few suggestions to improve the quality of B&B. 1.Change that plastic cup in the bathroom to be glass ones. 2.If you can make the shower section bigger, it will improve the room a lot. (speaking from two fussy guests) 3.Keep the volume low so guests wouldn't feel like they are living in someone's house. Overall is amazing and highly recommend if you are visiting Florence. It's not a big city so this place is just perfect.

P.S.it's about 15 minutes walk from the train station. (bus station located right next to the train station) If you have lots of luggage, I suggest you to take a taxi as it can be quite tricky to walk through the crowd.

See my photos and please vote for me if you find this review helpful. Thank you very much.

We have made many trips to Italy and having lived in Europe for a number of years, have a lot of experience with hotels and B&B's, On a recent trip in which we had no set plans, I actually booked the Panerai while on the train from Sorrento. We had read the reviews on Trip Advisor and expected to be satisfied with the B&B, but what a pleasant surprise when it exceeded all of our expectations. We had the room that looked onto a large banana tree in an inner courtyard. There was not traffic noise, however, int he morning we could hear birds singing and in the evening, singing from a nearby conservatory. The location is great, close to the Duomo and to the Piazza Accademie.

Breakfast was hure, made to order and served in the room. The owners are very knowledgeable about restaurants and we ended up eating at Aquacotta, a small family owned restaurant twice. Further the owners are some of the nicest people you will meet and go ut of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I cannot say enough to describe what an excellent B&B this is

Room Tip: Ask for the "banana room"

What a hidden gem this is in Florence! The location is of course good as it is very central, but what will stay with us forever is the hospitality and warmth of the hosts. Albena as a host is simply amazing. Such a warm and nice person. The rooms were well equipped and very comfortable. The place has an elevator as well, which is especially helpful if you are carrying a lot of baggage like we did. There are plenty of choices for restaurants, and there is a supermarket withing walking distance as well. The breakfast which Albena prepared was just amazing. The eggs were prepared exactly as we desired. Walter also is warm and friendly, but needs Albena tto translate English to Italian.
Should we visit Florence again, we hope to stay at the same place.

Room Tip: There are rooms facing the street, and if you would prefer quietness, you may wish to avoid rooms on...

We had booked at Soggiorno Panerai, but when we arrived at the building we were told that there was a problem with the bathroom and we were being transferred to their other property at Cavour. The owners were very apologetic, they had tried to ring my mobile to let us know of the change, and they were very helpful in helping take our luggage to the nearby property.
Our room on the first night had a lot of noice from the street, but they moved us to a quieter room - the Blue Room - for the rest of our stay, and we were very happy with this room.. it was very attractive, overlooked the courtyard, and was nice and quiet and comfortable.
The breakfasts were outstanding, and Lasty (Lasti?) who serves them was absolutely delightful... not only a great cook but a lovely person. And very helpful with other requests regarding our stay. Many thanks to her for everything.
We would definitely return, but only if we were sure of a quiet room away from the street. The location is superb, the breakfasts are wonderful, and the rooms very attractive.

Room Tip: The blue room at the Cavour B&B is away from the street and nice and quiet
