This hotel has a great central location on the Piazza S. Annunziata only a few hundred meters from the Duomo. The room was clean and spacious with a safe. We had good service from the friendly staff. The continental breakfast was perfect for us. Our only complaint would be about the poor coverage on their wireless internet on the third floor, which forced me to stand around in the first-floor lobby using my iPad to check email and flight status. All in all, it is an excellent value for the price.

I think a lot of the other reviewers share the same experience. This is more of one or two night hotel for groups of high school students on an Italian tour. They tend to be loud, and can really crowd-out the breakfast in the morning.

That being said, it is probably an OK place for the money. We never felt unsafe or imposed upon. The room was clean, but typically Italian small. The staff was reasonably good, considering the kind of tour-in/tour-out guest they normally deal with. A lot of the AC outlets took European adapters, but a couple were 3 prong Italian adapters, so if you're going you might want to spend a few extra dollars before you leave and also get an Italian AC adapter (BTW, this was true in just about every place we stayed, so have an Italian adapter was worth it).

The WiFi was good. Yes, there were some begging gypsies nearby at times, but that's true anyplace in the southern Europe. No problems.

If you're going to be in Florence 3 or more days, definitely get the Florence Museum/Bus Pass. The buses are very convenient to this hotel, as are a number of museums that you might normally visit and you can just pop in on with the pass.

If I go back to Florence, I'd probably pay some more and get a quieter place.

Room Tip: Away from the stairway, since kids run up and down.

We stayed end of March 2012; three nights. All three nights there were people screaming and singing until 2 or 3 in the morning. Breakfast just ok, staff rude. There have to be better places.

Room Tip: Interior room might not be so noisy!

Stayed here with a student group. The rooms are nice and clean most had safes. The location in terms of being near things is great (about 4 min to the Duomo) but be sure to travel in small groups at night as there were gypsies and some sketchy people in the street late at night.
Breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. They set up tables for my students to play cards one night and gave us sandwiches for free! There is a gelato place attached (not the best but decent).

Great location in Florence, 3 mins walk from Duomo and Accademia.
Rooms average but clean and warm. Some noise from next rooms .
Breakfast very good, fresh fruit, pastries, juices, cereals , toast and cold cuts every day.
One problem is the groups of students who stay here, bit offputting to have to fight your way past 30 odd students every morning on the stairs to get to breakfast.
The same students could be quite noisy early a.m and late p.m
For a central stay would reccommend at the price we paid.

I stayed in this hotel off season for them. It was early February and it was cold. The room was cozy and large and I was steps away from del Duomo and the David. Everything like the Uffivi, and the shopping, restaurants and lovely cafes were all around. I will be back for sure!

This is an excellent hotel for the location and for the quality of the rooms: everything is within walking distance. Five minutes from the Duomo! The place is clean, the staff is very cordial, the breakfast is fine. On the first floor there is a bar/Cafe' where you can get excellent panini and terrific gelato. I have stayed here many times and has always been a very enjoyable experience.
