The hotel was not the best looking hotel from the onset, but the helpful staff, quaint atmosphere, large bathroom (we had handicap room), filling breakfast, and free wi-fi made this Tuscany base well worth the money.

Props to the staff for giving us a ride to the train station on our way out. Nice.

I feel a bit guilty for leaving it this long to write a glowing review for Hotel Giglio, as we had a very good experience staying there for 6 nights in October of last year.

The hotel is spread over the first floor of a grand townhouse, on a quiet street within easy walking distance to Firenze's attractions. The room itself was spacious and had a view over a charming courtyard with orange trees and Vespas (of course!). The buffet breakfast was generous and hot drinks were made to order. There was also a comfy bar / lounge area by the reception, with a bookshelf of books and DVDs you can take back to your room to read/watch.

The staff are warm, genuine and very helpful, with an excellent command of English. We arrived early, tired after a long journey, and were offered a drink and while waiting for our room to be readied. At the end of our trip, the owner kindly drove us back to the train station with our heavy bags (even though it was already late in the evening). Very much recommended!

Located this hotel from other Tripadvisor reviews and they are all correct. This hotel provides very large , clean quad rooms decorated with Tuscan themes. What stands out about this hotel is the great service that is provided to all their guests , from offering my two boys aged 14 and 12 a welcome drink as it was a very hot day apon arrival as well as treating them to playstation games and DVD'S . They also went out of their way not once but twice providing us with a lift to the train station when we took a day trip out to Sienna and on day of departure. Also great recommendations of local Trattoria's especially Tito's which was just around the corner.
We truly thank you Roberto and Marco for making our stay memorable.

Hotel Giglio was recommended by a university that has a study abroad program in Florence, and we loved our stay there. Old World charm, stellar service, wonderful breakfast, engaging staff. What else do you need to know? The extended family that runs the hotel does an amazing job making reservations for the museums and suggesting restaurants. We highly recommend Hotel Giglio!

We stayed here for 3 nights recently, and loved this charming hotel. The location was about a 15 minute brisk walk from the Duomo, straight up via Cavour.

Our room was great - large and airy, with a DVD player. The hotel had a large library of DVDs and books, which was perfect for those really hot hours in the afternoon before dinner. Breakfast was beautifully presented, and was everything you could want.

I would highly recommend this hotel - great service, location and charm.
