If you happen to walk on piazza San Marco, do not miss the opportunity of the best pizza to go in Florence. I've known Pugi since high school (we are talking about 30 years ago!) and it's always been very good. Any pizza is good, the staff is very friendly. Important: if you get there at lunch time be patient, it's worth it and don't forget to take the number in order to avoid arguing for who was first. In the summer it might be a bit hot but you don't need to spend any long time there. Enjoy!

Outstanding pizza. Went to the park across the street, sat on a bench and enjoyed one of Florence's best. Service was fast and efficient.

The place was packed with locals when we went. We were a bit confused, but then decided to mimic the elderly man in front. Take a queue number, then wait for the number to be flashed so you can order.
There was a huge variety of pizza and breads. We didnt speak italian and they didn't speak english. We had read that the Schiacciata was good. so we showed the lady at the counter the article and pointed to the word. We also ordered a slice of pizza. total was less than 5 euros. The schiaciatta tasted great!

Stopped here for quick lunch after seeing David. Some of better take away pizza and sandwiches we had here, plus it was served to us by a friendly, happy person!
