“Beautiful central hotel!”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

My girlfriends and I visited Florence for a weekend trip and decided to stay at the Hotel Tornabuoni. This hotel is located in city center of Florence in between Tiffany and Co and a Burberry store, close to the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Reppublica and Piazza Duomo, everything within walking distance. We were taken to our room which was located close to the terrace which has breathtaking views of the city. The front desk was very helpful and friendly! We had to take an elevator to the 5th floor then walk to another area of the hotel to about 4 flights of stairs down to our room, it wasn't a problem for us and our room was in a private area and it was quiet. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and the decor was beautiful. Breakfast was also very good and the service was excellent! Will definitely stay again!

My girlfriends and I just returned from an 8 day stay and could not be happier with our experience at the Tornabuoni. The rooms were roomy and comfortable and each one was unique and beautifully decorated. The hotel has many areas to explore with many interesting antiques and art. The rooftop terrace had a breathtaking view and was a great place for an afternoon glass of wine! The staff was very friendly and helpful and made us feel special. We felt like we lived in a palace! The location was perfect.

Room Tip: I would request a room in the back as it was noisy at night.

The Tornabuoni is a treasure not to be compared with a Four Seasons, it is more like a piece of Florentine art. The hotel felt like home with lovingly restored rooms, a nice quiet sitting area/library on the 4th floor, beautiful antiques and more. The staff is wonderful, gracious and accommodating and always ready to make a suggestion when called upon. We stayed on the fourth floor, so each morning began with coffee on the beautiful roof top terrace offering a splendid view of the Santa Maria Novella.

Room Tip: The fourth floor is a great place to stay and the library/sitting area, breakfast room, intimate bar...

We stayed at this hotel in 2010 and would not hesitate to stay here again. The location was wonderful, just a short stroll to the Arno, Piazza della signoria and tantallizing upmarket fashion houses. The staff were helpfull and the hotel was very clean. It was a beautiful and interesting building with elaborate staircases and decor. We had a room set on corner that looked out over the surrounding buildings and interesting street-life, there was no problem with noise although we loved having our windows open to feel part of it all. Breakfast was pleasant with enough choice and good friendly service. For us the highlight of the hotel was the beautiful roof-top terrace covered in flowers and private nooks and crannies. After a big day of sight-seeing and shopping we loved to retire here for a G&T to rest our feet and gaze out at the Florentine rooftops and landscape, I'm enjoying just thinking back about it. It was a pleasure just being there.

Room Tip: Corner suites offer a great view in different directions.

Located an easy walk from the train station (no need to take a taxi unless you have loads of luggage) and steps away from the major sites like the Duomo, Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio. The staff is very helpful and courteous and after two days they recognize you. The rooms are all unique and very comfortable and the hotel itself rambles throughout the top floor of the building. I would definitely stay here again and anytime someone asks for ideas of where to stay in Florence this is the first place I think of.

Room Tip: Can't imagine any of the rooms being better than another. Some rooms are larger, some have a vi...

My grandma invited my sister and I to Florence, we stayed in that hotel and here are our different thaughts:
Some of the rooms have beautiful frescos and the sensation when waking up in these rooms was delightful.
Location is perfect, very central and in a rather posh street.
Angelo, one of the receptionist was absolutely welcoming, helpful and agreable.
The fourth floor has a terasse overlooking the rooftops of Florence: great view!
Its a cosy, not impersonel hotel so its perfect if you dont like huge chain hotels.
However the breakfast was extremely disappointing, internet does not work except in the tiny bar.
If you dont like the proximity with the street, you may find it a little bit noisy specially in the late evening and morning.
Finally the style is oldish, and not a lot of young people stay here.

This is our 4th stay at the Tornabuoni Beacci and our 3rd Christmas there. We absolutely love the history and charm of this hotel. Gino and Angelo are wonderful hosts catering to your every need and question. Since our last stay the televisions have been upgraded and the WiFi is strong.

If you are looking for a modern, generic, sterile hotel do not choose the Tornabuoni. If you are looking for outstanding service, charm and nostalgia this is the place for you!

The top 5 reasons to choose the Tornabuoni....

2. Angelo
