Two friends and I stayed at the wonderful Hotel Alessandra from Sept.17-19, 2012. The hotel was perfectly located, rooms were spotless, and the service from Andrea and his staff was the best service we received in any hotel during our trip to Italy - we felt like we were in their home. Breakfast was great, especially the cappuccinos. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visting Florence.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights on the last leg of our honeymoon. The location can't be beat, just as previous reviews have mentioned. It is clean and very quiet. Breakfast was adequate. Price was incredibly low. Yes, it has a few stairs and a small lift, but who cares? Leave your giant suitcases at home people! What do you need all that stuff for anyway? The rooms have AC if you want it. Bathrooms were clean (unusual for Italy). No need to wander far for dinner. The best place we found was right there on the same street just a few doors away....All of the staff (even including the housekeepers!) were very friendly... We loved Monti! He alone was worth the stay at this hotel. Whatever we asked for was made available to us with a genuine smile and kind words. If I owned a hotel I would want him working there! And if we return to Florence we would not hesitate to stay here again.

We spent three nights at the Hotel Alessandra in September, 2012. Excellent location close to the Ponte Viccio and other sights. Our top floor room was ample, quiet, very clean, had a more than adequate bath, good AC and a view of the River Arno and the ancient bell tower. Yes, there is a short flight of stairs and a small lift, but it was a minor inconvenience and staff offered to help. Breakfast was good and varied, served with a smile by the welcoming staff. Particular thanks to desk attendant Monti who was a wealth of information, gave us great restaurant recommendations close by and even found us a doctor in a half-hour on a sunday when we needed one.
