Villa il Mosaica is a delightful development with very cleverly designed apartments around a very picturesque courtyard. It is really well looked after but also quite private. We had planned to stay in a hotel in the city centre but when I came across this property it offered such good value for money I couldn’t resist. We were staying with our adult son and the apartment had so much more space for what we might have paid for just a triple room in a hotel. We always planned to eat out and I’m not sure the cooking facilities would have been quite enough for us to have been fully self catering. Our apartment had a two ring hob, lots of cupboard space and a full size fridge in a small but separate kitchen. As there was no oven or grill, a microwave would have been a useful extra. We were surprised to read there were tea and coffee facilities provided as I think that is rare in Italy. But if, like me, you need a cuppa before you open your eyes in the morning, you might want to make your own arrangements as the drinks facilities are a pay machine in the communal basement. The bathroom was beautiful with a jacuzzi, shower and bidet. There was always plenty of hot water. The beds were big and very clean and comfortable. We didn’t use the outside area as it was so very hot, even late at night, but there was furniture for sitting on the patio, on the lawn or up on the roof terrace (wifi access was also best outside). Instead we enjoyed the cool and quiet of our apartment after a busy day in the city. The air conditioning was very efficient although it took us a day or so to work out how to control it.
With hindsight, it would have been nice to have been a little closer to the city centre for getting back during the day but the transport was excellent. The tram was cheap, comfortable and ran frequently and quite late at night. We also took a bus from a stop quite close by that went directly to San Miniato and Piazzale Michaelangelo. For food we used the local Esselunga supermarket which had everything we needed and stayed open until 9pm.
I suspect prices for these apartments will rise once Villa Il Mosaico becomes known so if you want lovely accommodation at a very competitive price you will need to get in quick.

Dear customers
I want to thank you for the time that he has spent in his review of this and we are happy that she and her family have found, surprisingly, more than you expected. is what we want for all our customers by offering more and more, such as drinks and cakes for the morning when they arrive. it is a pleasure for us to know that our customers are happy during their stay with us and our promise is to continue down this road, trying not to increase prices too high.
again thank you very much and we hope to see you soon at the villa.

This accommodation offers the opportunity to self cater but provides hotel standard rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. It is in a strange location but we emailed them for directions and we found the villa without getting lost. The streets around the villa are a bit round down but the accommodation is of a very high standard and there is very good security. Although the road was a bit run down we did not feel at risk ( main issue was bins in the street). We visited in August and at a time when the temperature was very high ( between 34 and 40!). As a family of three ( our teenage son came with us) We were initially given the end room that was split over three levels- it included a full kitchen and a very elaborate bathroom- this is really a flat!. After the first night when the air con could not deal with the temperatures the staff very helpfully came up with a solution and moved us to two separate rooms. Both rooms were amazing ( just like the pictures) and and very efficient air con. We walked into florence all of the days of our trip, about 25 mins walk, but there is a tram stop very close. I consider that this was one of the best hotels we have stayed in and they are continuing to develop the facilities.

Room Tip: The rooms over looking the court guard are quieter and it is a really nice space.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel few weeks ago during our honeymoon.
We got first worried when we couldn't find it. However when we did, we were very impressed. The obviously recent renovation made the place so enjoyable and charming.
The room was unlike so many of those boring rooms one can find in all the hotel of the world. It felt homely and comfortable. And the bathroom, even though very small, was my favourite part of the hotel.

Dear newlyweds, it was a joy for us to contribute to the success of your honeymoon. We were happy to honor you among our customers, and we hope that this visit was the first of a long series. Meanwhile, I wish you happy marriage of 48 years, 48 as the number of steps you have done to the appartment where you stayed. Still vivid compliments and happiness.

Villa il Mosaico is an splendid place to stay in Florence; I stayed for a short summer holiday this year (2012) and will soon be returning as I am planning to take my parents for a very special holiday. The villa is very close to the city centre -only a few minutes by Tram, which was conveniently located, frequent, comfortable and efficient. The villa itself is a fine building tastefully decorated with many traditional features and state-of-art facilities. Our room was very special -high ceilings and beautiful floor-to-ceiling double doors leading to a charming little terrace, a very pleasant surprise! The deco was nice and modern, comfortable beds and a superbly designed kitchen unit that was a feature itself. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Villa il Mosaico and will certainly stay there again in our next trip to beautiful Florence.

The villa is only 4 tram stops from the central train station in Florence. Easy to find and very peaceful. The walk back takes about 25 minutes alongside the river but after a massive bowl of pasta it's a welcome treat! The people who run it were lovely, villa was clean and the decor was amazing! Traditionally Italian but with a trendy twist. The bathrooms are new and our shower was amazing nothing like you normally get in Italy. The price here is competitive as its not in the centre of the city but the tram is so easy it's nice to stay out of the chaos and have peace and quiet and your own space. The only downside is the air con is slighty temperamental so you have to make sure all windows are slammed shut for it to work, other than that I cannot rate this hotel higher. Loved it and would definately stay here again.
