If this was a 4* star hotel, the part of the hotel where we stayed couldn't have been included in the rating. Our rooms were in Building Four and resembled college dormitory rooms- tiny rooms with basic furnishings, nowhere to store anything, hard beds and miniscule bathrooms. Louvered wooden shutters covered the windows so it was hard to see outside. If you did manage to open the window, mosquitoes came in. The air conditioning did not work well. Perhaps other parts of this hotel offered better accommodations but not in the building where we were located. This building would have sufficed for high school and college groups on tour but not for a U.S. tour group accustomed to better accommodations. The location was fine since you could walk straight to the Duomo in about 20 minutes. Breakfast was okay with a fairly good variety of breakfast foods, but if I ever return to Florence, I will choose another hotel..

Room Tip: Avoid Building Four.

4* Hotel - with one older part and a newer addition. we stayed in the older part - terriifc room - on two floors with a spiral staircase up to the bedroom, main bathroom ad wardrobes. The lower floor housed a small kitchen (unused during our stay) another toilet and a sofa, tv and seating - almost but not quite a suite. Breakfast (included in our deal) was buffet style but with fresh rolls, ham, cheese, croissants, fruit, cereal all in plentiful supply. The scrambled eggs and bacon were poor - over cooked and dry and the fruit juice powdered but these are small gripes. The staff we very good especially the reception staff who ordered taxis, provided advice and maps with a smile. A 10-15 minute walk down to the city centre was no problem and it meant the location was quieter than some central hotels. Only minor problem was the plumbing - our friends had to change rooms because of the lack of hot water and whilst ours was fine we could clearly hear running water in other showers and bathrooms from our bedroom.

Room Tip: Ask for room 235 - spread over 2 floors!

Easy to walk into the center of Florence. You could easily find your way back by finding the Duomo and walking back straight from there. The room was great and quite large. Most of all it was clean and the bathroom was one of the better ones in my multi-city trip. Breakfast was great. Staff were nice and it was easy to get anything you needed.

Palazzo Riasoli prioved and excellent choice with only one criticism - the bar staff were very less welcoming than reception. Breakfast was excellent and very well staffed - they coped well with large volumes of people wanting quick service together.

Whilst the walk too and from the centre might be a long way on a hot day - there was a bus inot and bak from town for €1.20 - just ask at reception for bus stop locations.

Don't miss San Miniato al Monte not the Davizza Pale for a taste of Florentine upper class family living in 15th century - en suite batrooms included!

Room Tip: Staircases 1 and 2 overlooking the courtyard probably best.

it is a large hotel with a beautiful decor on the outside.I loved the yard with the statues. Reminded me of Roman style. It is peaceful to drink your tea or coffee outside at the yard where small tables are chairs are available. So peaceful to be there in the hear of Florence.
The room was spacious and the beds were made every day. The staff was friendly to us and aswered to all our questions. The receptionists a man and a woman extremely helpful and spoke english too. As for the breakfast there was a variety of food and drinks. You could even ask for an espresso or a cappucino at the bar instead of having the coffee which is served there.
The only thing i did not like was walking back to the hotel late as it is quite dark because the shops are closed on that street. I felt a little bit unsecure. On the main street you can get the red bus for a tour around the town which was very handy for us. I would recommend this hotel to someone who would like to visit Florence.

Room Tip: There is no noise at this hotel so you can stay at any level.
